You ask me how I'm doing and I said I'm doing fine
A corrupted mind so young, you scream and you cry
Tainted with sin, you're dirtier than a swine
A body you may imprison, but a heart you can't confine

You'll weep while you sleep, you'll learn how to cope
Your vision is blurry, you see ignorance through a scope
Though thoughts never rest, yet you hide and you lie
Come forth daughters and sons, we burry our hope

Take on pain
Take on promises
Take on vain
Take on hopelessness

The shadows come out and torture mortals of the night
Entanglement in the brush but we still put up a fight
Show me a reason to live if we're still gonna die
Surrounded by death but we still hold on tight

No sisters or brothers, what do we have to lose?
We walk this path alone so who do you choose?
A soul of suffering just like you
Or parents who only seek power and abuse ?

We run from our shadow, we can't change who we are
A place we wish to escape, so close yet so far
Boundless in love and pure of gold heart
Over the hill and guided by a star

Take on pain
Take on promises
Take on vain
Take on hopelessness

Kings will fall and ye will die
Rain did no justice, your God was a lie
Pierce your skin and slaughter your lambs
Throw down thy hearts and no doves will fly

Wearying mortal, rip your soul from your shell
Glance at your chaos and endure this hell
Live in fear of your belligerent "king"
Or do yourself justice and live a life so well

Take on pain
Take on promises
Take on vain
Take on hopelessness

It's easy to give in, but it's our future we paint
Being here alone is suffering and restraint
Building a life out of all that you hate
Some eager to burst forth, but some weak and faint
