Spring in Hades ✔

Intermission - Author's Note

Hiya loves! 

First of all, let me just take this opportunity to thank all of you, you gorgeous people you, for your wonderful love and support. No words could properly express my gratitude for all of you. 

I know that our beloved King and Queen of the Underworld have one of the most enviable relationship, and we have spend more or less 30 chapters loving and gushing over them. 

The last 10 or so chapters have been hard on all of us. 

After going through the difficult chapters together, I feel like I need to put this here. This is a head's up. It's still going to get worse from here before it gets better. 

Hades and Persephone love each other greatly; hence, the betrayal is great and the hurt is great. The last 10 chapters are the betrayal chapters, where we see what is happening to them while the deed is in motion. What's coming is the aftermath, so that will take a bit of time. They're grieving over their relationship, and grieving takes time. There'll be blaming, denial, hostility, guilt, loneliness and above all else, irrationality. Trust me loves, they need to grieve, even if their griefs will be self-sabotaging, self-destructive. Both are each other's firsts; they need to learn from experience, no matter how off-the-mark their perspectives will be.

Now, given what was thrown my way before this, no, I do not enjoy doing this to them. I do not take all of this lightly. This has been planned since the beginning of this book, it's been thought over.  

This does not mean that I will separate them. I'm a sucker for happy endings, and I need to have their happy ending. But the immensity and depth of their hurt right now is essential for them to rebuild their relationship. Life, Death and Rebirth are the essence of their realm, and to them. Their love has been one of the most alive, and now they are mourning over their "dead" relationship. But both of them will be reborn from the ashes of this "little bump" of theirs. They're both fighters; eternal love beckons at the end.

I realised that Persephone has become from one of the most loved characters to one of the most hated. I get why. It was never my intention to turn her character into something so hated. I only meant to show a possibility of an outcome from something so destructive (e.g.: letting out your anger on innocent people, and ends up ruining them); even if she has no hand at the cause of it. But there's more to Aristi Chthonia. She is the fated Praxidike of Tartarus after all. Before, she was Persephone, Queen of the Underworld / Goddess of Spring. Now, I hope we get to meet Persephone, Destroyer of Light / Exactor of Vengeance.

I get the anger and frustration towards their predicament. I can't lie that a part of me is glad, because that means my story, my characters are so loved; that's why you suffer with them. That also means that everything that I've tried to convey have been successful, because you felt what they felt. 

But I do not appreciate personal attacks. 

You love my story, follow my story, felt for my characters. That means you trust my story. You trust me.

So thank you for your continuous trust in me as I continue to navigate all of us through the journey of this story. 

I'm sorry that if it's all too much to bear, and you have decided to give up from continuing this journey with us. It's really sad to see precious people go, but I get it; I understand. 

For those who are still strapped in for the rest of ride, I have no words other than a simple thank you. Simple, but it means the the whole cosmos to me.

Ultimately, I love all of you. 

I'll be seeing you on the other side. Lets go!
