The next day
I stand outside with my shades on while scrolling through my text messages.
I click to see that Valerie hasn't texted me back yet and she just blew me off. I was a little hurt but I understood.

As Valerie's friend that won't step over boundaries, I didn't want to push the issue even further. When she's going through a stage of depression I give her some time to herself, but still check on her from time to time.
I didn't like invading anyone's privacy unless they were willing to open up about their problems.
I click my iPhone off as I look out at the busy street and wait for my brother Jeremiah to pick me up.
