Sometimes, she wondered what was the purpose of life.
What was the purpose of working so hard to build a great career, when everyone reaches the same endpoint? Death.
The rich, the poor, the old, the young all welcome death with open arms when their time was up, no matter what they accomplished in life. They would all be on a same playing field eventually.
Adelaide sighed as she leaned forward against the countertop in the kitchen with her contemplations, knowing it was too late to dwell over the deepest conundrums she could think of.
Eleven year old Winona applied her weight upon the counter/ as well as she grinned up at Adelaide, tucking a strand of her jet black hair behind her ear cheekily.
"C'mon, Dee!" she exclaimed, "There's obviously more to that story."
