John 17:1-5,20-24

'After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now, this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.'

Have we known someone great in his reign?

A thousand years ago, there are kings and emperors who crowned as great and there are those who are not. They played a big part in society. They were the first person who manages and rules a country. Do decisions that they may see it's for the good of those under them.

But there is an end in every reign of a great king or a great emperor. In the eyes of their constituents, they were great but the truth is they do not know that they were only played a supporting role in a bigger story. In the shadow of his reign, the son of a carpenter was born to reveal something far greater than any Roman military victory, temple, stadium, or palace (Luke 2:1).

We can see in those verses from John how a great King loved His countrymen. Jesus prayed for all the people at that time and now it includes us, He remembers us even on the night he was about to arrest and soon to suffer. Who's king will gonna do it? None other than Him. No one can foresee His hidden sacrifice for us.

He's the only King who deserved an applaud and sacrifice forever.

Ask yourselves this question, for growth:

Is there a king who ruled in my life? If yes, who is this king? Is it Jesus?

As for how Jesus pray for us, as a great King, Let us be His follower who needs His glory.

W - restle in Prayer

May our hearts only knew that Jesus is our greater glory we need and a King over our lives.
