Roman was used to Logan's tired attitude late at night, having grown up with the nerd and getting into the routine of picking him up from his evening college classes three days out of the week for the past year and a half. He'd learned not to bother the boy and just let him rant about his professor but Logan seemed too tense tonight so Roman decided it was his duty to distract him and cheer him up.

So, naturally, he gradually raised the volume of the radio until it was blasting out his speakers. Logan finally noticed just how loud it had gotten and glared at Roman before muting the radio altogether. "You believe you're hilarious, don't you?" Roman smirked. "I know I am."

"You made me lose my train of thought." Logan huffed, crossing his arms and sinking into the passengers seat. "Well, I suppose I'll talk about the lab we did today." "You know how much I love hearing you rant about frogs," Logan hummed sarcastically. "Really I do! You get this adorable little blush on your face and you start pretending your holding a frog-" Roman cooed jokingly, Logan hit Roman's shoulder with a bright red, embarrassed face. "But I need to make a quick stop by the gas station."

Logan snorted, "You're still trying to entice the cashier?" "Oh but of course, dear nerd. If I have yet to swoon the man at the register, it shall be soon through perseverance." Roman dramatically spoke.

Logan rolled his eyes. "You really believe you can convince him to go on a date with you just by interacting with him every day?" Roman grinned proudly. "Yep. Can you get a 10 from my wallet? I'll get you a slushy this time." Logan grimaced as he pulled a 10 dollar bill from Roman's wallet. "Why would I ever want that sugar-filled monstrosity?" Roman pulled into the gas station parking lot and turned to Logan once the car was parked. "Still Corn Nuts then?" Logan sighed. "If you must, it would probably be more logical if you just talked to him like a normal human being instead of buying something every time." Roman plucked the dollar bill from Logan's hand, "I can't just go in there empty handed, can I?"

The charismatic boy exited his car and entered the convenience store, immediately searching for Corn Nuts to make himself busy. "It'll just be Corn Nuts today, is that okay, Pat?" Roman called from the aisle, smiling once he heard a small giggle from the boy he's been crushing on for three months now. "You get Corn Nuts every day, Roman. Of course it's okay."

Quickly grabbing a random package of the snack, he made his way to the register. "Not true, don't you remember yesterday and a couple of days before then? I got a slushy and some ice cream." Patton rolled his eyes playfully and scanned the item, knowing Roman didn't even need to be told the price by now.

Roman handed him the 10 dollar bill, to which he reluctantly broke the dollar bill into smaller bills as he always did. "Why do you always bring in a 10? You could just give me two ones, or even a five, it'd save you the trouble of stuffing all of this change into your pocket." Roman tapped his fingers against the counter nervously. "Well, uh, I bring it in because it gives me more time to talk to you." Patton froze and looked up at Roman.

Roman coughed nervously and diverted his gaze around the store. "Is that why you've been coming in so often?" Roman slowly nodded. "Wait, no Roman, that can't be right. Don't you have a boyfriend? I'm not going to be a-a home wrecker, okay. I'm sorry, but I will not-" Roman's eyes widened and he quickly cut the boy off. "Where did you get the idea that I had a boyfriend?"

Patton slowly pointed out the window, now unsure of himself. Roman followed the direction and practically laughed at what Patton was pointing at. "Logan? I love the nerd but I'd never date him." Patton still looked weary so Roman decided to explain further with a small smile. "He's my brother, our parents adopted us a few years apart. He's technically not my biological brother but I'm still not comfortable with all that, it's technically still incest." Roman fake gagged, smiling once Patton chuckled.

"Okay then, forget I said anything about that. Let's start over." Patton said, slightly embarrassed by the whole situation. Roman nodded. "So, would you like to go on a date with me? Platonic or not is up to you." Patton beamed at the other boy, "I'd love to go on a romantic date if that's okay with you."

Logan rapped alongside Nicki Minaj as her voice played through the radio. "Coming through the club all the girls in the back of me, this ain't football why the fuck they tryna tackle me? Really, I pick dude at the bar like really. Looking like he wanna good time like really-" The door opened and Logan practically jumped to quickly turn the song off. His heart pounded as he hadn't noticed Roman coming back out to the car, Logan held a lot of guilty pleasures but rap was one he didn't want to become public information any time in the near or far future.

Roman still hadn't said anything, just staring at his lap with a dazed smile on his face. "I assume it went well?" Roman turned to Logan and nodded quickly, finally letting his excitement show as he squealed loudly. "He- We date on Saturday." Logan amusedly raised an eyebrow. "Do you mean you two are going a date on Saturday?" Roman nodded, practically bouncing in his seat.

Logan chuckled at his brother's excitement, "Good, now if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to get back to complaining about that idiot I have to call Professor." Roman grinned at Logan's description of his teacher before pulling out of the parking space and continuing the drive home. He idly listened to Logan's long rant but his mind was occupied by his excitement for Saturday.
