"Today's order of business--what to do with the Heartless crawlin' all over the ravine," Cid says, typing away on his computer. "For now, all we can really do is enhance security inside the town. I'll take another look at Claymore's programming. Man, it's gonna be another all-nighter."
"Sorry, Cid," Leon apologizes.
"We are sorry, Cid. But we are pretty dependent on you," Alex, Harmony and Leon's mother, says, working in the kitchen.

"Eh, it's my job. You can just make it up to me by pulling your own all-night patrolling the streets. With this look on your face," Cid says, giving Leon an intense look, showing the deep bags he has under his eyes.
"All right, I hear you," Leon says with a sigh. "But we can't fend them off forever. We need to find a way to cut them off at the source."
"We don't have enough firepower to wipe 'em out all at once," Cid points out. "So what are we gonna do?"
"Here you go. Iced tea helps calm the nerves," Alex says, holding up a tray with drinks on it.
"We'll just have to do it the old-fashioned way and take care of them a few at a time," Aerith says, helping Alex pass out the drinks.
"But for every one we get, another swarm appears," Cid points out, taking a sip of his drink, then spits it out. "Aerith! I told you not to put sugar in my tea!"
"Aerith, we talked about this," Alex says with a sigh, using her motherly tone.
"Sorry," Aerith apologizes.
"I have an idea," Merlin says, after having his drink given to him. "We prepare some poisoned bait. They find it and take it back to their nest. The others in the nest will eat the poison, and we get them all in one fell swoop."
"Poisoned bait? Where did you come up with--" Leon starts to say, before getting interrupted.
"Hey, Merlin, we ain't talkin about roaches here," says Cid.
This causes Leon to fall over, feeling stupid for believing that there might actually be a plan on getting rid of the Heartless.
"Oh. You're not?" Merlin asks.
"No, Merlin, we're not," Alex answers, helping her son back on his feet. She then hands a slip of paper to Merlin. "When you've got the chance, could you get all this for me? We're running low on food, and I need to make something for dinner today."
"Of course. Be back as soon as possible," Merlin says, then uses his magic to transport himself to do the errand Alex gave him.
"If only we had some kind of bomb that would wipe them all out," says Leon.
