Chapter 58: Scar's Ghost

(Harmony's) POV:

Dr. Finkelstein's robot, who we just discovered to be the thief, suddenly starts to attack us, possibly angered for being tricked. Considering our situation, the others and I begin to fight back against the robot. It wasn't an easy fight, considering how the robot had multiple tricks up its sleeve, but we somehow managed to win. After defeating it, the robot collapses.

"We did it! The mystery is solved!" Jack declares.

Right after he says that, we start to hear jingling bells. Then we notice Santa flying in his slay. He lands the slay in front of us and walks up to us.

"Did you catch the thief?" Santa asks.

"Naturally!" Jack declares proudly.

"I just don't get it. Why would the doctor's experiment be going around stealing Christmas presents?" Madison asks, thinking out loud.

"His experiment?" Santa asks.

"The thief! It was a moving puppet made by Doctor Finkelstein," Jack explains.

"Hmm...The doctor's made a moving puppet?" Santa asks, examining the remains of the robot. "I see...He is always tinkering with things. Now listen, Jack. I'd like to thank you, and while delivering presents is something only I can do, I can give you an idea of what it's like."

Santa's words make Jack's day. "Sandy Claws!"

Jack then hops into Santa's slay.

"Yes, all that poor puppet wanted was a heart," Santa says, then gives Jack a wink.

With permission, Jack has the reindeer set off in the air. "Ho! Ho! Ho!"

While Jack enjoys himself, my friends and I head back to Halloween Town, to explain things to Dr. Finkelstein.

"Interesting! So the puppet wasn't stolen after all!" the doctor exclaims. "It ran away on its own. In other words, my experiment was an overwhelming success!"

"Santa Claus thinks maybe it left because it was trying to find a heart," says Saito.

"That's quite possible. Unlike my Sally, it wasn't equipped with a heart," the doctor points out.

The doctor then leaves, heading back to his lab.

"But if it wanted a heart, why was it going around stealing all those Christmas presents?" Sora asks.

"Maybe because...presents are a way to give your heart to someone special," Sally suggests.

"She's got a point. When getting a present for someone, the gift shows that you were thinking of them when getting the gift," I point out.

"Hmm...When you put it that way, I feel sort of bad for it," says Sora.

"That makes two of us," Nagakura says, ruffling up Sora's hair a bit, like in a brotherly way.

We then start to hear jingling bells again. When we look up, we see Jack falling from the sky, and landing perfectly on the ground. It took us nearly by surprise. We then see Santa soaring across the sky in his slay.

"Happy Halloween!" Santa calls out as it starts to snow all around us.

"Snow..." I say.

"It's so pretty, mieu!" Mieu exclaims, earning barks of agreement from Chibi and Kuro, while Stitch gazes at it curiously.
