Vren! Why did you have to act stupidly today?

I was busy speeding along the road, positive that today's scenario would be different from yesterday. Yesterday, my colleagues and I failed to win the Arcodas deal, which brought us a loss of about a hundred million pesos. That was real shit.

Today, I was hoping for good vibes.

Ngayong umaga ay naka-schedule ang hiring ng prospective Medialink employees, who would fill up the vacancies of our organization. You could say that as the CEO and owner of Medialink Marketing Inc., I shouldn't be that involved, especially since considerably low positions lang naman ang bakante. Surely the Human Resources Department could handle that, right?

But no, there's this one spot that I myself have to select the person to fill it up — Medialink's accounting department head. Paano ba naman, the last person to hold the position turned out to be an asshole. Kung hindi pa ako mismo ang nakahuli ay hindi malalamang nangungulimbat na pala ng malaking halaga ang loko, by modifying our company's accounting records.

I couldn't let that happen again — not in a million years.

So, here I am, trying to catch up dahil malapit nang mag-9 AM.

But, for God's sake, may biglang tumawid na babae! And before I could stop the car, nabangga ko na 'yong pedestrian.

My heart was thumping — akala ko ay napatay ko siya. The thought of me suddenly becoming a murderer chilled my spine.

Yet to my relief, biglang tumayo ang babae. And before I knew it, there she was, knocking violently on my car window while cursing.

"What the fuck —"

Dumudugo ang paa ng babae! Jesus. Ang tanga mo, Vren.

Oops. Narinig niya yata ako. Akala niya, siya ang minumura ko.

"Hoy!

My, she's scary. Look at the way she's staring at me now.

"For your information, today is my job interview. And because of you and your lame driving skills, malamang ma-late na ako.

She looked like the type of person who likes drama, and hey, who am I to steal her spotlight?

Wait, what? Did she just say the name of my company?

Paano? Kayo talagang mayayaman! Hindi porke magara ang kotse mo —"

Alright, something's going on here. Accounting department head? Interview?

Great, Vren. Just great.
