"You almost done babe?" I heard Ethan's voice beam behind the door. A couple days have passed, and it was now the day of Mackenzie's mother's funeral. I've been a nervous wreck all week ever since her mom had passed, mainly knowing that I'm not gunna see Mackenzie anymore...

Ethan and I have tried all of our best to try and convince my parents to adopt Mackenzie, but I don't think it worked at all. Now that today is her mothers funeral, the adoption center she's been staying at this past week is going to fully take her away. I don't even know how I'm going to be able to survive today, cause I can't even bare leaving Mackenzie.

"Yes," I replied in a low voice, not even caring if he heard me. I was clipping the back piece of my earrings when I heard my bedroom door creak open. I stared at my saddened self in the bureau's mirror as I heard his footsteps come closer to me. I soon found him behind me on my side holding onto my shoulder, and we stared at each other through the mirror.

He looked amazing all dressed up I have to admit, but I'm just not feeling it right now. "You look beautiful," he told me, and I couldn't help but at least show a small smile. I suddenly felt him turn my body towards him, with our eyes getting locked into each other's. "I seriously mean it," he added.

"You complimenting me won't help anything with Mackenzie," I told him with my eyes looking down.

"I'm just trying to cheer you up," he told me as he lifted my chin up with his finger. "And it's still true though." I saw a smile creep onto his face as I saw that sparkle in his eye, and I couldn't help but blush a little bit.

He then pecked my lips for a couple seconds, making me feel a little better about this situation. "It's almost time to head out," he told me as he pulled away.

"Well I'm ready now," I said trying to provide a smile, while he did the same. We pulled away from our grasp, and I quickly grabbed my phone off of the charger before heading downstairs with him. My parents were just about to leave since they were gathering their things, and we all soon headed out.

Ethan drove over here, so I was going in his car to the funeral with my parents going in theirs. I even noticed that they gave me a sympathetic look before heading in their car as I got into Ethan's. He soon put the key in ignition, and started driving off following my parents car to the funeral.

It was only about a 15 minute ride to there, and I even held onto Ethan's hand the whole time, which made me feel safe and a little bit better at this moment. He parked his car with the both of us heading out, and following my parents to the ceremony.

As we did, we found a few groups of people huddled around her grave and casket that was about to be buried. I even found Mackenzie with some of the people who were taking care of her at the adoption center, and she looked so down and confused at this moment. I don't even know if she knows what's going on, since I didn't really tell her about it.

But her eyes lit up once she seen me, and she ran over to me giving me the biggest hug I've ever gotten from her. She even gave one to Ethan, and we all stood together along with my parents for the funeral to go on. Soon enough, the priest started talking.

I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying, but I was mainly just thinking about how I'm not gunna be with Mackenzie anymore. I even shed a tear at the thought of it, knowing this is gunna be my last few moments with her. I seriously don't wanna leave her, since she's basically my life to me.

I even think Ethan knew exactly what I was feeling, cause I felt him grip my hand a bit tighter once I felt some of my tears falling. I looked towards him bitterly, while he gave me the same look back. But he at least flashed his amazing smile towards me, which brought my hopes up a bit.
