chapter fifty nine

hey homies, its ya girllll nd she's bACKKK (hopefully, no promises there)

waking up next to luke in our own bed was the best feeling, i was no longer in a tiny single bed with what felt like sand paper for sheets. i turned over and was greeted by the biggest smile.

"hey" he said, moving the hair out my face.

"hey" i smiled back.

his smile was so intoxicating, whenever i saw it i couldn't help but smile back. i felt my eyes closing again, i need to catch up on so much sleep now that I'm back at home. sleeping in the unit was so difficult, and very rare due to the constant noise and lights. 

"no no, you can't go back to sleep" luke whined. 

"we have so much to do now that you're out" he spoke about me being 'out' like I've just done 20 years in prison, he's so excited to have me back.

luke suggested going to the beach, and at first the idea kind of scared me but when i thought about it, it sounded good. I called my mum and asked her if she wanted to come with emma but some how she managed to get me to take emma while she went shopping, which i should have guessed would happen but didn't mind at all.

once luke and i decided to get out of bed we done the tradition of racing for the shower, which i always won. I got ready as quick as i could as luke waited for the shower. Once i was done, i left the bathroom as luke ran past me "YOU TOOK SO LONG MY BLADDER IS GOING TO EXPLODE" he shouted on his way past. 

"you know this house has like 4 bathrooms right?" i replied, trying not to burst out laughing at his stupid comment.

there was a long pause before a 'aw shit' came from the bathroom, i laughed as i put on my shoes and headed down the stairs. James and Jai were sat at the breakfast counter and when i walked in their faces instantly lit up.

"ay chels" jai said, pulling up a chair next to him.

i sat down with the boys and waited for luke. i noticed james staring at me, so i questioned him.

"what?" i laughed, shyly.

"your eyes, they're sparkling like they used too." he smiled lightly at me.

i felt myself smiling back at him, i think in a way he was right. I feel like a completely new person, and its fucking awesome. Ive been on this earth for so so long yet this is the first time I've actually felt alive. Im so happy to be alive

I heard the rush of feet coming down the stairs, and it could only be luke. He may not be the biggest person alive but man does he sound like a heard of elephants running at full speed. He came sliding into the kitchen with a huge grin on his face.

"ready?" he asked.

i nodded my head and grabbed my bag, we said bye to james and jai and headed out. We walked down the block to where our families were staying hand in hand. Every time he caught my eye he had a huge smile on his face, and it was so contagious. When we arrived at the hotel, everyone was stood outside waiting. My mum, Emma, Gina and likes Nonna and Nonno. Emma looked so excited to see us, she ran straight up to luke and hugged him and it made my heart melt. 

"ready kiddo?" luke said, she nodded her head as she held onto his hand.

My mum and Gina were headed out shopping, and likes grandparents were waiting for Beau and Jai to  pick them up to head out for some food.

We all said goodbye, and we started walking to the beach. Seeing the way luke was with my sister made me so happy, he loves kids. I looked away for a second and when i looked back, emma was on lukes back as he ran for the beach. I couldn't help but smile, thats my whole world right there.  Once we had got to the beach and found a spot to sit, i put down some towels while luke and emma were straight for the water. I sat and watched them from our spot, they both looked so happy.
