Thirty-eight

We drove for a while, slowly heading further out of town. After more then half an hour, I could no longer contain myself.

"Hunter!" I whined. "Where the heck are we going?!"

He laughed. "Don't worry love, we're almost there."

"Where exactly is there?" I huffed.

He laughed and reached behind his chair. "Here, put this around your eyes."

"What no, I am not blind folding myself. "

"Come on Mag, don't spoil the fun." He whined with a smile.

"Hunter!"

He laughed. "Just put it on, we're almost there and I want it to be a complete surprise." I gave him a look. "Hey, we've already driven all the way out here, you might as well do it."

I sighed and took the stupid blind fold from him. "Fine." I groaned.

"Thank you."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."

"Okay, now when I stop, don't get out."

"What's going on Hunter? What kind of surprise is all the way out here? It better be like a waterfall or something."

He laughed out loud. "A waterfall? Really, in South Carolina? Let me know how that works out for you."

"Would you just tell me where we are going?" I waited for an answer but didn't get one. "Hunter...Hun-"

"No, don't take it off."

I jumped at the sound of his voice in my ear. "Oh my god Hunter."

He laughed. "We're here, take my hand."

I blindly reached out for him. "Hunter what the heck is all the way out here? Seriously, I'm starting to hate this." I whined.

"Come on." He pulled me in a random direction after I gained my footing.

"Slow down Hunter." I complained.

"Oh stop your whining. Watch your step." He slowed down, I could tell we were still outside because I could feel the heat pulsating down on my skin. "Stop here and wait just a second."

"I swear if you made me do all of this and it's just a picnic I swear I'm going to kick you in the balls."

He laughed. "Babe, relax, I promise you you won't regret coming out here."

"Where are we anyway?"

He didn't answer me, instead he put his hands on the tie to my blindfold. "Alright, on the count of three, I'm going to take the blindfold off okay?" I nodded. "One...two...three!"

The blindfold was pulled from my eyes as I slowly opened them. When I caught sight of what was in front of me, I screamed.

"Oh my god Sarah!" We both squealed and hugged each other, bouncing around in place. "Oh my goodness! Oh! I missed you!" I couldn't stop the tears from coming, I was overwhelmed by how much I missed her.

"Oh my gosh I can't believe you guys actually came!"

"You knew we were coming?!"

"I get one visitation for ten minutes every few days or so."

"I'll take it!" I squeezed her hard. I didn't care if it was only for a few seconds. Getting to see my best friend period was more then enough.

"Hey, save some love for me now too." Hunter laughed.

She ran to her older brother, letting him swallow her in an embrace. "Thank you for coming all the way out here, I've missed you guys all so much."
