Chapter 23

Amelia's POV:

"How have you been?" I ask her carefully. "Okay I think. How about you?" there is barely any emotion in her voice. "Alright, just resting." she hums at my reply and we keep walking. This is harder than I thought. "Ashley?" I stop walking, looking at her as she stops and turns around. "You wanna break it off don't you?" she whispers. Tears are threatening to fall so I nod. A gasp is heard and soon continued by crying. "I'm so sorry Ash.. I'm so sorry" I sniffle and hold her tight. She grips tight on my hoodie and buries her face in the crook of my neck. "You like her" she states and I furrow my eyebrows. "Florence." she says and my face drops into guilt. "I think I do.." I mumble. She nods and holds me tight. "I'm so sorry for fucking up babe. I'm so so sorry. I can't lose you.. Please, Lia give me a chance. I can't lose you." she cups my face and tears are rolling down her cheeks. I softly wipe them away with my thumb and sigh. "Ashy I'm so sorry.. I just can't do it.. I can't be with you.. I love you Ash I really do and you will always have a special place in my heart." I sigh and look into her eyes my own tears falling as well. "But I'm just not in love with you anymore.." I state softly. She nods and kisses my cheek. "I'm sorry for what I've done. I'm sorry I didn't do shit about it. I'm sorry I lied. I'm sorry I yelled at you. I-" I cut her off shushing her and holding her tight. "Don't Ash. Mistakes are made and it hurts yes but we will get over it. Like I said I love you but I'm just not in love with you. Whenever you ready I still want to be friends with you. You mean a lot to me and I hope we manage to stay friends." I lift her chin softly and kiss her cheek. "I don't deserve to even have you as a friend.." she mumbles. "Ash stop, we can't change the past. I'm not mad at you, I forgive you. We promised we would shut things down as soon as one of us lost feelings or someone else got involved and I don't wanna get her in between this. I do like her.. I didn't make a move nor did she. But it's neither fair to her nor you." she nods and cups my cheeks. "You're one of a kind Pickle." I chuckle softly at the nickname. "and so are you Taco." she smiles softly. "Give me some time to become a better version of myself so I can be the friend I once was." I nod and she smiles. "I will Ashy." we both smile and slowly walk back to Lizzie's. "Can I do the if you hurt her I break you speech tho?" she asks making me chuckle. "Let me first explain it to them. I don't think you'll come far and she will start at you. They didn't look pleased when you called and when I left.." she hums. "Hey it will be okay. I will talk to them." I squeeze her hand softly and she nods. "Thank you Lia." she smiles. I give her one last hug and open her car door for her. "Drive safe and take the time you need." I close the door and she opens the window. "I will now go back inside." she chuckles and waves. I wave back and enter through the garage, slowly making my way into the kitchen.

"I will never have a chance will I?" florence asks someone. I raise my eyebrow and decide to stand her for a little. I know eavesdropping is not nice but oh well. "I'm not sure Flo. She's smart, she knows what's best and she won't ever be playing with someone. We all see the way you two look at each other and something inside tells me that she knows too." Lizzie said making me smile. She knows me better than I thought. Not wanting to hear more I quickly make an appearance acting like I didn't just hear them talk. "Hey guys." I greet them and Flo mumbles a soft hi and looks at her hands. Lizzie raises her eyebrow and sightly tilts her head. I gulp going over to the blonde and softly enclose her in a hug. She looks up and I smile. I nuzzle my head in her neck my lips close by her ear. "Never say never Flossy." I whisper and kiss her cheek before letting go. I hug Liz tight and Florence is still standing at the same spot. "You broke her." Lizzie states. I gasp offended. "I did not. Look." I reach out my hand and softly poke the blonde. She squirms and her cheeks are red. "Stop it, Lia. Let's go back outside I think you need to talk to Scar and Lizzie. Scar is still fussing." I roll my eyes and Flo giggles walking back outside. I went to go after her but Lizzie held my hand stopping my movements. She softly cups my cheeks and traces some of the bruises. "You cried." she softly says and I hum. "What did she do" she almost growls. I shake my head. "Not now, I will tell outside but first you must have some make-up here?" I look up at her and she nods grabbing her purse. "This will hurt a bit I'm sorry." I shrug my shoulders and Lizzie quickly fixes my face. The twins walk in and I swear they're about to loose their shit. "Did she fucking hit you?" MK says. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, hissing as Lizzie pressed the blender against the bruises and the pulling pain of the stitches. "MK not now." Lizzie says not looking at her older sister. "No Liz. If she's violent we have to step up. How can you even be covering this up? How are you not freaking out?" Ash says furious. Lizzie is starting to get annoyed by her sisters assumptions. She is starting to press the blender harder and I hiss. Her look softens and guilt is washing over. Before she's able to pull away her hand I tap her arm 3 times and squeeze her hand. "It's okay. Not your fault. MK and Ash please stop accusing your sister for shit she did not do. She is just covering something of yesterday. Ashley wouldn't ever lay a hand on me." They hum but don't seem convinced making me sigh. "We will be out soon." Liz says and glares at her sisters. They huff and leave. "I'm sorry they're just protective over you." Lizzie apologies. "I know. It just bothers me they think you would let it happen. They don't know do they?" I ask her carefully and she shakes her head. "No. It's not my story to tell. Let's go outside." I nod and get up giving Lizzie a hug. "Thank you." I say and she smiles tapping my arm 3 times and I tap her arm 3 times back. We get outside and I sit down next to Flo slowly bringing my hand to her lap. She notices and smiles holding my hand and giving it a quick squeeze. I smile softly and let my head rest on her shoulder. Lizzie sits back down next to Robbie and he kisses the top of her head making me smile. Scarlett and the twins look like they're ready to fight. "I broke up with her." is the only thing I say making everyone look at me. The twins were about to say something but I cut them off. "Don't. I'm still slightly annoyed that you guys even think Lizzie would let someone hurt me. But yes I texted Ash a few hours ago asking if we can talk. She agreed, got here and that's when she called. We walked and eventually I dropped it saying we need to break it. She understood but it still broke her. We decided to stay friends tho. No matter what you guys think she still a good friend to mine. Yes shit happened but I forgave her. The past is the past. Like I said to her I love her but I'm not IN love with her. So I would appreciate it if you guys will stop having an urge against her. She knows she fucked up, she doesn't need a reminder. So please not for her but for me let it go, okay?" I hold Flo her hand a little tighter. Her free hand rubs my back up and down making me relaxed. The others still look shocked? My phone went off and it's my best friend. This is going to be hell. "Hello my sweetest most annoying best friend." Flo chuckles and rolls her eyes. "Why the fuck are you still not here? I swear if you did something stupid I will make sure you rather wish you were dead." she raises her voice making me gulp. "I'm fine, I'm sorry I just forgot to send you a message. You can always come by?" I play with Flo her rings while she's rubbing my back. "We have a studio session tonight. I will be there shortly you better don't have a scratch, Amelia." I nod and Flo squeezes my sides making me squeal. "Oh sorry. But yes Ma'am, see you soon." we hang up and I groan. "So who wants to plan my funeral?" I mumble making the others laugh. "She doesn't know a thing does she?" I shake my head and Flo chuckles. "Oh darling..." she says low making me whine. She comes closer and I feel her hot breath on my ear. "I will protect you princess. I just got you, can't lose you now." my jaw drops and my cheeks are getting red. I whine and quickly turn a bit so I can hide my face in her neck. "That's mean Flossy." I whine and she laughs sneaking her hand underneath my hoodie to softly caress my back. I hear the twins, Robbie and Scar gasp making me frown but suddenly I remember how it looks underneath. I hide my face further into Flo her neck, straddling her in meanwhile so my hoodie will drop down a little, her hand still underneath caressing my back. "Lizzie, Robbie I won't eat dinner here I think. I forgot about the studio session." I say looking at them. They nod at me and Scar still looks like she saw a ghost. I tap Flo and motion my head to Scar and she nods. I get up and make my way over to her. "Hey" I say softly. She doesn't reply still staring in front of her. I softly hug her and she holds her breath for a second before sighing in relief. She holds me tight but also careful. "I'm going to kill him." I shake my head. "No. It's fine Scar. I'm okay thanks to you and Lizzie. It's just some bruising." She gives me an apologetic smile and I kiss her cheek. "Now don't be sad. I need you to protect me from getting murdered." I chuckle making her shake her head. "Flo, will do a better job in that." she winks at me and I start blushing. I playfully push her away and she smirks. The doorbell goes off and I shrink in my seat. Robbie gets up to open the door. "I'm not here, tell her I'm u-uhm to Europe! Wait no. Tell her I'm hiking." I give them a goofy smile and they chuckle. Flo stands up and sits in front of me. "Thanks Flossy" I smile at her and she smiles back. The twins visibly gulp as they see my best friend. Gosh she must be furious.
