Celebrations can lead to mourning

Rotanev

"I don't see why they make this such a big deal. It's just their parents birthday. It's not even their own birthday." Theodore complained to Blaise.

Blaise shrugged, while Jaden put himself in the conversation, "You don't see the big deal because you weren't raised by Sirius and Monroe Black. The two heartthrobs of Hogwarts. The ones who also created the most conceded kids in our class."

I looked at Rigel with a sly smirk, then clapped my hands. Everyone who was gathered in mine and the girl's dorm, turned their head towards us, "Now everyone, we have called you here today to celebrate our parents birthday. We celebrate because they always come here on their birthday, but also without them being born, we wouldn't be here today. Them being born is a blessing because it brought you all Rigel and I."

Rigel smiled proudly, "Now when our parents arrived, they will be here with James and Regulus as well. We ask you to be civil towards Harry if he is around. We all know how much you fear our mother anyway, so don't do anything stupid. Thank you, that is all."

Everyone got up, while Jaden and Draco made their way towards us. Draco let out a laugh when he came closer towards us, "You two are the only people I know who made a big deal out of a parents birthday."

Rigel snorted, "That's because we actually like our parents, unlike you two. Celebrating Dad and Mum's birthday is special to us because we almost lost Mum at a young age and didn't have a good relationship with Dad until our first year."

Jaden's full attention was now on the conversation, "How is Monroe handling all this stuff with Tom being back. I remember Dad talking about how traumatized she was after October 31st, then when Peter broke out during our third year it all went down hill. Is she still having-" He leaned in closer, "Those visions and dreams like you two?"

Rigel shared a look with me, before I answered our cousin, "We haven't talked about how she's handling it. She talks to Dad, Reg, or Moons about everything. I mean Dad always talked about how after she almost died, it was like she could see everything Tom saw. It's like they were connected. She saw his whole life. She was also paranoid after it started effecting us. Our ancestors have no answer to how her choice of magic effected us."

I looked over to see Draco staring blankly at the ground. Rigel waved his hand in front of him, "Draco, are you okay? You don't look to well right now. You want to go see Poppy or Moons?"

Draco shook his head, "No, I'm fine. Just bringing up everything with Tom reminds me of my dad and Bellatrix. I wish we could save my mother from this as well. If father fails anything it should go onto me, not her."

I put a hand on his shoulder and pulled him into a hug, "Your mother sent you to our house for your safety. She didn't want you worrying about her. Narcissa Malfoy, was once Narcissa Black. She is one of the strongest witches I know. She will handle everything."

Jaden looked around the room to see the other four had already left. He turned back to us, "Before we head to breakfast, and we are on the topic, has anyone asking Theo about this. I know his father in very involved as well. If Tom has Bellatrix back, then surely Theodore has joined them as well."

Rigel bit the inside of his cheek, thinking of what to say, "Let's just not talk about that right now. We aren't even sure about Lucius, so let's not bring Theodore into this. For Theo's sake. He's already lost so much."

We nodded in agreement, before grabbing our things and heading to the Great Hall for breakfast. Down in the common room were other Slytheirns enjoying their mornings, but eyeing us as we walked. We four were some of the civil Slytheirns. Some hated us, wanted to be us, or wanted us.
