Hellfire

Monroe

"But you were getting along with them a couple days ago? What is the reason for the sudden change again? Sirius met me at the Astronomy tower and told me how happy he was that he thinks he's getting his best friend back." Regulus exclaimed.

"We are nowhere close to being friends again on our own. We are friends as a whole group, but we aren't friends if it was just the two of us. All of them are making it harder to give each other a break." I said while watching the first years run in front of us to breakfast.

Regulus shook his head, "I kept trying to tell them that you two actually needed space, but how dare they actually listen to the one who witnessed you two fighting. No one ever listens to Regulus Black."

I put my hand on his shoulder, which caused him to halt in his steps, "I listen to you. Reggie. The others may not, but I do and always will. You have proven yourself to me and that I can trust you. Come on before Carter and Ace have our heads being late to eat with them and Snape."

Regulus and I walked into the Great Hall and made our way to the side where Slytherins were on one side and Gryffindors were on the other side. Sirius, James, and Lily were on the side that their backs faced the Slytherins.

I was walking down the aisle with Regulus when James took my hand and stopped me, "Hey, your spot by Lily is right there. Why are you still walking? Do you actually want to sit next to Padfoot today?"

"I'm actually sitting with Reg, Avery, and Rosier today." All the boys and Lily stopped and turned their heads to me. "I said I would sit them today. They are trying to make friends with Snape."

"Well, that's alright. You're still going to sit with us at the Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw game right? We set up an awesome prank for afterwards. It would be nice to have Rowie back with us." James told me with a hint of sadness in this voice.

"I'm actually skipping the game for Regulus to tutor me in Astronomy. I will see about the prank later, but don't wait up for me. Thank you for offering anyway." I informed him.

Sirius eye's met mine and I knew what he was thinking. Sirius was always my Astronomy tutor. He was the best in the class, even beating Lily in grades. It was our thing to do. I could tell he was hurt that he wasn't helping me anymore.

I turned away from them and sat in between Regulus and Ace. Ace flashed me a smile and started to ask me about how my week was. I told him it was eventful and we laughed it off. Carter seemed to be the only one who could tell that I wasn't happy sitting with them, besides Regulus.

After we all ate, everyone made their way to the pitch to watch the game. I went back to my dorm to get my Astronomy books, so I could meet Regulus at the tower for our session. He said working where the class actually happened would be better.

When I was walking through the common room, a certain smell hit my nose. It was cigarettes. I turned to see Sirius Black laying on the couch smoking with a bottle of firewhiskey beside him. He seemed to be laughing, which wasn't good.

See, when Sirius Black laughs there are two kinds. A funny laugh that he uses when something is funny. A joke or some prank that has gone well. The other laugh is when he is angry. He doesn't like to show his anger like the rest of his family, so he laughs it off.

I slowly walked over to Sirius and he didn't seem to notice me walking towards him. "Sirius." He looked at me blowing out a puff of his smoke, "Are you alright? I thought you should be at the pitch with the others?" I asked him.
