Bait

It had been a little over a month since Mother got sick. Healers updated us weekly, but was still unsure of her sudden sickness. Kade and I had an idea of who or what could have causes this, but the Order was quick to brush it off. We however were not scared to start our own intestgastion.

Kade and Beth have been coming to Order meetings since Christmas and were recently officially called members. Molly Weasley had a problem with it, but Beth was quick to make sure Molly kept her mouth shut on the matter.

All the members were seated in Dumbledore's office. Andromeda and Ted have been allies with us for awhile, but for the sake of Nymphadora, they didn't want to get in much action. They also defended Kade and I against the Weasleys.

Dumbledore sighed, "There is only so much we can do. Cline Flint's sickness is no common cold. She would have been healed by now. This isn't anything that you can just catch. She should be over it by now."

Arthur sent a glare mine and Kade's way, "If this is anything done by Voldemort, then why haven't they done anything? Monroe is a dark witch, can't she go and do some dark magic to see what it is? It would be the only good thing she can do."

I snapped my head in his direction, "You are acting really mature for being a father of three. Maybe your wife has four children instead of just three. Grown men shouldn't be talking down eighteen-year-olds."

Regulus covered his mouth, to hide his smile. The marauders didn't even try to stop their snorts. Marlene looked at her feet to hide her laughs and Lily coughed to cover up her laughing as well.

I let out a little evil chuckle, "If you think that Kade and I's power are just useless, then why not send us out as bait? It's been confirmed that Evan Rosier, a seventh year Slytherin, is a deatheater. He became one over Christmas break. We can somehow let him know that Kade and I will be meeting somewhere. Tom wants us anyway. Use us as bait, then you all can have your glory moment of catching him, or even a few of his followers."

Molly gripped on her husbands arm, "How are we supposed to know that you aren't setting us up? You and him could already told the Dark Lord of this plan, just for him to kill us!"

Kade scoffed, "If we wanted you dead, we could simply do it ourselves. It would take me only one minute to kill you, five seconds for Monroe to kill you. Trust me the only people we will be killing are people like our father who followed Tom. Check our forearms. There are no dark marks to see."

I locked eyes with Molly, "I would never put my mother in harms way. Never would I put the safety of my friends at risk. If I was a deatheater you would know. I would be as insane as Bellatrix is to be one."

Alice and Frank Longbottom stepped up. Alice looked at Molly and Arthur, "They have given us no reason, not to trust them. Can't you at least trust them for one mission. If they know about the dark arts, they might be helpful."

Arthur turned to Regulus, "What about him? He is always about deatheaters! Who knows if he's not one already, I bet-"

Regulus stood up in rage, "I am not a fucking deatheater!" The whole room went silent, "I'm around them all the time because you had a problem with me coming on actual missions. Dumbledore asked me to be a spy! It was my mission, same as Monroe. You gave Sirius more grace, why can't we have any?"

Ted stepped forward, "I am a muggleborn, just as Lily Evans. If I didn't feel safe with Regulus, I wouldn't have welcomed him into my home with my daughter. I am sure Miss Evans, wouldn't be around Monroe if she didn't feel safe."

Lily nodded, "Monroe is my best friend and I love Regulus like a little brother. If you can't trust them, then you will lose me as an Order member. If you lose me, I know my friends will have no problem leaving as well. You would be losing your best members."
