living in the dream smp has its perks.

for example, you get 3 full canon lives, and when once you have lived through all 3, you officially die.

once you die, you get to choose whether you turn into a ghost (for example, the first person to do so in the smp was ghostbur) or you live in the underworld.

canon lives aren't just any lives though.

canon lives mean that the deaths are deaths that fit within the alternate universe's rules and can affect the way the alternate universe works after you lose one of your lives.

for example, death by a mob or by falling into lava doesn't count as canon, unless it wasn't accidental. however, dying in a duel can count, under certain circumstances. a non-canon death will not affect your life count.

if you choose to turn into a ghost, you "spawn" back into the overworld.

the only "problem" is that there are changes that will be made towards your appearance. you will have a sensitivity to light and snow, your memories change into only positive ones (meaning that any negativity will be erased from memory), your skin tone will be a tone of grey, plus your voice may seem echoed or alternated.
