❝sam telling their background❞

i was never one to steal.

i always believed that i was a happy and good person.

that was until he came around.

he came around and he eventually left.

they all end up leaving.

but him?

he left everyone's life.

when he left, i was heartbroken.

i never got mad at him for it, in a way i understood him.

❝narrator's pov❞

sam has an obsession with flowers. many people know this about sam. they would go to flower shops all the time, either buying bouquets, singular flowers, or plantable seeds.

now they do not buy flowers.

in sam's neighborhood, most of their neighbors have potted flowers or a small garden. occasionally, sam does end up stealing some of them. why? well, i think it is because sam is one of the only houses without flowers.

they weren't stolen for a reason you may think you were, as the flowers were never to plant.

sam gave up with that a long time ago.

sam steals the flowers from their neighbor, whose name is niki.

i personally believe niki has the best-looking flowers in the neighborhood.

she had never noticed when sam stole, but over time sam had taken so many flowers, that she believed that she is starting to catch on.

niki is a very nice neighbor. she was always inviting, always making sure our neighbors were happy, always the neighbor to wave at everyone, and felt as if it was her duty to make sure that felt like they fit in.

❝sam's pov❞

it was a monday morning.

it was a perfect time to steal her flowers again.

after getting to know niki, i started to feel bad about stealing her flowers. but, they were for a good cause.

they were for him.

they were all for him, everything i did.

i started making my way to niki's porch, where a bed of flowers laid.

i picked two kinds of flowers.

a mix of red carnations and yellow pansies.

everything was going well until i thought i heard the door.

"sam?" niki said, so the door did open.

shit, how do i explain this to her?

"niki i can explain!" i burst out, i was really eager to get out of this awkward situation

"yeah, please explain why a handful of my flowers are in your hand?" niki replied, a tone of curiosity lacing her voice

"you see, there's this boy. your flowers are the most aesthetically pleasing i could find, but i can pay you back for the flowers, but i promise they are for him!" i pleaded, i still wanted to get out of there soon

"well, you don't have to pay me back on one condition"

"what is it?" i tried to reason with niki's "deal"

"i want to meet that boy"

shit... no, she can't know. i can't let it happen.

"i guess.. he might not be what you expect though"

why did i just do that? i wanted to facepalm so bad right now.

it started raining when sam and niki made their way to sam's car.

a few short moments later, sam pulled into their destination.

their destination was not what niki was expecting.

tears pricked in sam's eyes as they pulled into the graveyard parking lot.

she shakily grabbed the flowers and started walking.

everything i do is all for you.

it's all for you.

everything i do.

it was a silent long walk to his headstone.

the two made their way, niki following along as sam slowly walked in the rain.

they eventually made it to where the special boy laid.

6 feet under, was where her boy was. where he laid.

sam kneeled down, placing the flowers down gently as she made her way to the floor.

"i got someone for you to meet. it probably wasn't what she was expecting, but i hope she likes you."

sam looks back at niki, holding a small smile, tears pricking at niki's eyes now.

"i miss you so much"
