“Yah Oppa! That's so mean!” You slightly hit him in the arm.
“What~ It's true~ Every year at New Years here, someone will just trip or even fall on that sidewalk every time. It always happens during fireworks. It's true.”
“I don't believe you. There's barely any crowds right now.”
“You bet?”
“If you will what will happen?”
“Any wish?” He starts to chuckle.
“I don't know~” You try to get into his mind. “What are you thinking?”
“Kiseu~ Wen~”
“Ah yah~ Are you serious?”
“Come on~” He grabs and holds onto your arm. “It's new years.”
“What if I win the best?”
“Kiseu. Wen.” He pouts.
“Yah Oppa, still?”
He pouts again. He lets of your arm. He grabs your hand and puts it in his pocket.
“Just watch. I'm telling you I'm right. As the fireworks go, someone will.”
Minutes has passed. It was already over midnight. You glance back and forth from the sky to the sidewalk.
“I don't see anyone.” You try to convince him. “I win.”
“The fireworks aren't even over..” He laughs. “And I can't see anything.”
“Really? I'm shorter than you, yet I see the sky so clearly...” You look back up.
“Let's move to a different spot then.” He starts to guide you, with him behind you.
“Yah Oppa, why are you...omo!”
“Are you okay?” He hear him as he helps you up.
“Yeah. I'm fine. Thank you~ I just fell over this...” You look down. “This curb... of this sidewalk.”
“Kiseu!~ Wen!~”
You turn around and look up at him. He's smiling really wide, yet trying to hold his laugh.
“I'm waiting~” He pouts again.
“You led me here Oppa! That doesn't count. You made me fall!”
“Come on~ Every year it does happen...” He takes your hand and waves it back and forth. “It does really happen. But it took so long. I got so impatient~” He blinks quickly.
“You're so mean Oppa~ A trap~”
“Mianhae~”
“Just for 'kiseu~?'” He imitate him. “'Wen~'”
“Can I still get one?” He speaks up over the loud fireworks again.
