"He’s gonna be so happy to see you.", Cameron said and I smiled at his words. "Seriously." "Thank you so much, Cam. See you then. Bye." I hung up and leaned my head against the car window of the taxi. A smile was plastered on my face. I was about to surprise Shawn, my boyfriend. I hadn’t seen him for three weeks and I missed him like crazy. Cameron had suggested to me to come to Los Angeles to surprise Shawn. And here I was. In a taxi on my way to their hotel. My heart was beating really fast and I couldn’t wait to see him. Suddenly the car stopped and the driver turned around. I gave him the money and got out of the taxi, dragging my suitcase with me. Then I spotted Cameron standing outside the hotel. I smiled and went up to him. He looked up and saw me. "(Y/N)!", Cameron said and hugged me. "How are you?" "I’m good. Really excited to see Shawn.", I answered. Cameron nodded and pulled a key out of his pocket. "I got you a key for Shawn’s room. He’s in the second floor." I took the key and hugged Cameron again. "Thank you so much for everything." "No problem. We all missed you. Leave your suitcase here. I’ll carry it to your room later. And now go and surprise your boyfriend.", Cameron chuckled. I thanked him again and headed for the stairs. I was so nervous and excited and all I wanted right now was to cuddle with Shawn. When I arrived at the second floor I looked for his room. Soon I had found it. Taking a deep breath I turned the key in the lock. I giggled to myself and pushed the door open. "SURPRISE!", I shouted excitedly. "I’m…"
I stopped. I froze. I stared. I died a little inside. It felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest. My mouth dropped open. Tears started to form in my eyes. The girl jumped off Shawn’s lap and fixed her dress. Shawn stared at me in shock. ”No…I…” I took a step back shacking my head. Shawn walked towards me. I stumbled back. ”Please…I…” Shawn’s voice cracked. My hands were shaking and my thoughts were going crazy. A single tear rolled down Shawn’s cheek. ”I…I was…” ”Don’t.”, I cut him off. My voice was thin and it came out more like a whisper. It was impossible for me to speak louder. I turned around and ran out of the room.
I felt like crap. I felt worthless. I felt helpless. But I didn’t cry. There were no tears running down my face. There was just this empty feeling inside of me. I was angry and sad, but I didn’t shed a single tear. Cameron, Nash and Matt were comforting me, trying to cheer me up and I loved them for doing all these things, but there was an ineffable sadness inside of me. Even though I had never been so sad and I had never felt so down I didn’t cry. ”We’re gonna get Shawn. He has to explain a lot of things.”, Matt said and the boys left the room. I didn’t answer. I just waited. I waited for Shawn.
After a while the door of Cameron’s room was opened. I knew who it was, even without looking. ”Why?” My voice was strong and I had chosen my words carefully. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It seemed to be true. I didn’t look at him, but I knew he was crying. ”I…I’m…I’m so sorry.”, Shawn sobbed. ”Why?”, I asked again. I didn’t want to hear that he was sorry. I wanted to hear why he did it. Shawn sat down next to me and took a deep breath. ”I… I don’t know.” I turned to face him. ”I’m an idiot. I’m so stupid for kissing this girl. I’m so sorry. I don’t know why I did it, but I know that I love you.” He wiped the tears away and sobbed quietly. ”So you love me?”, I asked. Shawn nodded and took my hand. ”More than anything.” I looked into his eyes. Their were full of regret. ”Then you wouldn’t have cheated on me.” I got up, fixed my shirt and walked towards the door. ”But I love you so much.”, Shawn shouted. Tears were running down his face. I turned around for the last time before walking out of his life. ”Are you sure about that?”
