summary/note: you were in an intense battle with a villain, but your lover was quick to sacrifice himself just for you. ⚠️

People thought that being the countries greatest hero was amazing. They thought that being a hero meant that you held immense power and could fight off any villain you wished. Unfortunately for you, that wasn't really the case.
Sure, you (along with you partner), were the countries greatest heroes and did possess a great amount of power and strength. However, you couldn't just fight off any villain that you wished too: you had to work hard in order to do so, like most things in life.
Sometimes, even if it was just for one villain, you would have to train for years and years just so that you had some tactics and skills in order to fight them off for good. And that sure took a lot of effort. But even then, more and more villains would come back, demanding a fair fight.
Being a hero was extremely hard, of course it was. But you didn't regret chasing your dreams and becoming one. Not at all. You thought it was a distant dream that you would never be able to obtain, but look where you were now - the countries number one hero with the countries other number one hero right by your side at all times.
All of that extra training paid off - especially for today as you were currently in an intense battle with a well-known villain. (just so you know, this villain is made up by me, it's not actually in the anime)
This villain just would not give up. She was so desperate to just end you that it got to the point where she was centimetres away from stabbing you.
"I will kill you, and you know it!" She cackled whilst swinging her sharp dagger near your face once again. However, you were quick to dodge by ducking down.
"Stop trying, you wont succeed." You smirked before standing up once again.
The villain looked very amused. You watched as her thin lips twitched into an evil smirk before she stepped closer to you. She was well-known for killing hero's such as yourself.
"Where is your husband? Is he that much of a coward to not be helping you?" She spat, glaring at you as she gripped her dagger tightly in her hand.
You scowled. "No. He's on a mission."
"Such a lame excuse." The woman chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief.
You didn't even have time to answer since she decided to swing her dagger at you once again.
But this time, she did succeed.
You yelled out in pain whilst watching it pierce through your skin in your upper arm. The woman showed no mercy and decided to dig it in deeper, causing you to groan out.
She then forcefully pulled it out, snickering to herself as she watched you stagger slightly, trying to stay stood up.
You hissed out in pain then clutched onto your arm, placing your other hand on the deep wound in order to try and reduce the bleeding.
"You told me that I wouldn't succeed? You make me laugh, Y/n. Look at you already."
You said nothing. Instead, you glared at the villain before lunging at her. A simple stab wound wasn't going to stop you, no way. That wasn't what being a hero was all about: hero's were supposed to protect people from all evil. You couldn't just give up now.
The villain dodged your harsh punches before aiming her blood-covered dagger straight at you. You managed to dodge the attack and ended up kicking her in the stomach with your remaining strength.
The villain gasped out before stumbling backwards slightly until her back came in contact with a wall. The two of you had been fighting near some ruins of a house, so it was only natural for there to be plenty of walls.
The woman groaned whilst clutching her stomach. She trailed her gaze up, only to be met with you shooting death glares at her.
"Well what are you waiting for, Y/n? Finish the job." She laughed.
You scoffed. "Please, that wasn't even a proper fight. I want you to give me all you've got."
The black haired lady looked amused. She grinned devilishly before pushing herself off of the wall, never breaking eye contact with you.
That was when she threw the dagger at you, aiming it perfectly. You smirked slightly before jumping up and grabbing it between your fingers. The woman gasped. She wasn't expecting that.
Now walking over to the villain, you kept your eyes on her the whole time to watch her movements, making sure that she didn't move from her spot. What surprised you was that she actually didn't, almost as if she wanted you to end her.
You sighed softly, "Didn't you say that you were going to end me?"
The woman was silent for a few moments until you were stood directly in front of her.
"I did. But I thought I'd be nice and give you a chance."
"I know you," You begun, "You wont really give me a chance, will you? This is all a trap."
She smirked. "Indeed it is, dear. Look at you now, you've fallen right into it. And to think that you're a hero is absurd."
Your eyes widened in an instant. How could you have been so naïve?
You watched as the villain reached over, ripped the dagger out of your hand, then aimed it straight at your chest. You were cornered and unable to move. Even if you tried to fight her off, she would still find a way to stab you. It was useless.
"Say goodbye." Was all the black haired lady cackled before throwing the dagger.
You squeezed your eyes shut, preparing yourself for the worst. However, when nothing happened for a good few seconds, you grew extremely confused. Well, that was until you heard a gasp of horror along with a strained groan coming from what seemed to be another person.
Peeling your eyes open, you weren't even able to process anything that was happening. All you could see was the villain staggering backwards in shock, and an ash blonde male stood protectively in front of you.
It was then it dawned on you. That man was Katsuki Bakugou, the other number one hero as well as your husband.
"I thought you were on a mission!" The woman screamed, her voice raising,
"I was... But... I passed here and saw that you were about to kill Y/n... I couldn't let that... Happen."
"So you decided to jump in front of them and get yourself stabbed!?"
"If it means that Y/n wont die... Then... Yes."
Their conversation had your blood running cold. Katsuki jumped in front of you in order to save you.
Wasting no time, you rushed in front of Katsuki to take a better look and to hope that your theories were going to get proven wrong.
Unfortunately, they were correct.
Katsuki stood there, the dagger dug deep into his chest as his shaky hands desperately clutched onto it. Thick, red blood was streaming down from the wound, then splattering onto the floor.
The sight was enough to make you scream out in horror as well as despair. He didn't need to do this for you.
The male hero was quick to collapse onto the floor, his legs giving way. You immediately crouched down next to him then cupped his face with your hands.
You then lifted his face up so that he was looking into your teary eyes. He managed to smile weakly at you.
"How are you smiling at a time like this...?" You whispered, feeling your salty tears run down your cheeks then drip onto the floor.
"Because..." He ripped his face out of your grasp then leaned down to cough up pools of blood, "I know that I saved you..."
Now you were sobbing. You didn't know what to do. You couldn't call an ambulance or any emergency services since you were in the middle of nowhere and had no clue where you were.
"Katsuki..." You choked out, now looking at the amount of blood he was loosing. It was too much.
The said male reached over then grabbed a hold of your face with both of his cold, pale, shaky hands. The two of you locked eyes and you could see that his were also filled to the brim with tears. Not only were they tears of pain, they were also tears of sadness: he was sad at the fact that you were crying over him. He never liked seeing you cry.
"Y-y/n..." He spluttered out, feeling his body slowly grow limp as he took shaky breathes of air.
He looked behind you to see that the villain was no where to be seen. He came to the conclusion that she had already taken her leave and left the two of you where you were.
"Katsuki..." You whispered in response.
"I'm so sorry... I just... I couldn't watch you die..."
"I wouldn't have died." You insisted, however, you thought the complete opposite.
"Listen, Y/n... I love you with all of my heart, and I really didn't expect to be leaving you so soon... This wasn't my... I-Intention at all... But please don't be sad when I do slip away... I don't want to see you sad or in pain over me, okay?" Katsuki explained, taking deep breathes in between. He could feel his life slowly drain away.
Tears continued to cascade down your face as you stared at the man you loved with all of your heart.
"I-I love you too, Katsuki... I just cant promise you that I wont be sad." You replied.
Katsuki nodded. "I-I understand... But... Please try... For me?"
You gulped but leaned over and pressed a kiss onto his forehead. "Okay. I'll try for you..."
That was all he needed to hear from you.
Bakugou let go of your face then coughed up another pool of blood, some spraying and splattering up the walls, painting it in a dark shade of wine red.
"I-I'm leaving now..." He breathlessly whispered, forcefully turning his head to face you.
You gasped, eyes wide with disbelief. "No, no, no. Not now-"
But it was too late.
You heard the faintest, 'I love you' before his red eyes turned dull and lifeless and he slumped down onto the floor which was covered in his own blood and tears.
It was all too much to comprehend for you. So, you screamed out, feeling your heart shatter in your chest.
Shuffling closer to your now lifeless lover, you wrapped your arms securely around him then sobbed loudly, your tears landing on his cold body.
You had just lost the love of your life, you best friend, and your soulmate.
All because he loved you too much and couldn't stand the thought of watching you die right in front of his very eyes.
So, he did what he thought would be the best way to save you.
He sacrificed himself for you.
All because he loved you.
