It was not a normal morning as you wait for the kettle to boil. It was still earlier than the usual time you would wake up but nothing has been the same. You were happy to get Peter back but devastated after the funeral of Tony.
You wipe off your tears as you pick up the kettle filling your cup. As you slowly stirred the small tea spoon in the cup you hear a scream come from the bedroom. "Peter!!" You scream out his name as you sprint out of the kitchen dropping your cup as it crashes onto the floor.
Peter sat on the bed breathing heavily as he held tightly onto the covers. "I'm here. I'm here." You say rushing towards him. He hugs you back as he cries on your shoulder. You wanted to tell him it was okay but you knew that would be a lie. You rub his back as he slows down on crying.
"You're going to be okay." You say looking at his red puffy eyes before kissing his forehead. "I can't. Not anymore. He was my mentor. How can I learn anything without him." He says through sobs. "Peter. Remember how he found you? You were things that you created and yes he got them upgraded for you. You have already learned a lot from him." You say hoping to lighten up his mood.
"What if I don't be as good as he was?" He asks. "You have always been the friendly neighborhood spiderman. Everyone loves you. You have been doing great so far and you can do better in the future too. You made him proud." You say with a soft smile.
"Let's go make you a nice cup of tea or would you like some juice?" You ask getting up from the bed and waiting for him to get up as well. "Tea." He says softly as he gets up and walks with you outside to the kitchen.
"What happened in here?" He asks looking down to the floor with the broken pieces from the cup and tea spilled everywhere. "I dropped the cup. Let me get it cleaned up." You say. "No. No I got it." He says making you sit down before cleaning the mess.
Once he was done you moved towards the cupboard picking up two new cups to prepare some tea.
"I missed you so much." He says into your neck as he back hugs you while you stirred the cup to melt the sugar cubes. "I missed you too." You say turning your head to the right to leave a soft peck on his dried lips.
The room was silent. Noises from the vehicles far away was being heard a fee times. The television was turned off. Peter had the cup set on the coffee table as he sat at the corner of the sofa looking up the ceiling. "Are you done with the tea?" You ask to which he nods his head.
You take the two cups leaving Peter alone in the living room.
"Hello?" You answer your phone after putting the cups in the sink. "How is he doing?" Bucky asks concerned about Peter. "Still devastated but hoping that he would be alright soon. Just need some days. He has been through too much." You say softly into the phone. "I'll drop by maybe tomorrow. Call me if you need anything or if anything happens. Okay?" Bucky says. "I will. Bye." You say hanging up.
"Hey." You say softly as you join Peter on the sofa. He moves you towards him making you rest your body over his as he puts his ams around you. He leaves a kiss on your forehead. "I promise I will never leave you again." He says. His voice barely audible from crying. "You did what you had to do." You say softly. "I know but I failed." He says. "No. Peter you didn't fail." You say.
You wanted to tell him more but you, yourself was sad as well to do anything. He tightens the grip on you kissing your head a few times. "I love you so much."
