"You can't just abandon me and the baby." I say crying out loud to stop my boyfriend from leaving. "Well I don't want this. We are over. Bye." That was the last thing he said before leaving me and my unborn child.

2 years later

"Mommy, I want to dress up as spider-man." My 2 year old son, Luke says looking at some costumes at the aisle. "You sure honey?" I ask as Luke changes his mind a lot. He nods excitedly. "Spiderman huh?" I hear someone say. Luke holds my finger as the strange man chuckles. "Mommy, it's spiderman." He whispers to me. "Why don't you introduce yourself." I say smiling to Luke.

"You really trusted me with your son." He says once Luke is a few feet away from us. "Well he loves spiderman and he just met his idol. I can't stop that dream from happening you know. I want him to be happy." I say smiling. "Do you want to maybe grab some coffee afterwards? I mean if that will be totally okay with you. Or luke's father." He says nervously. "Sounds great." I reply.

"What type of coffee?" He asks. "I'm actually not a coffee type of girl. Pick a good one. It will be fine." I say. "Oh no no. You don't have to drink it if you don't want to. What about juice?" He asks. "Sure." I say. He looks at me, waiting for a direct answer. "Oh um, any would do. Other than strawberry." I say. He nods as he gives the orders for the drinks. "Mint ice-cream for you Luke. Some fresh avacado juice for you.. um, I'm sorry I didn't get your name." He says. "Yeah um, Y/n. I'm y/n." I say taking the drink from him.

"Luke, why don't you go play with the kids by the swing?" Tom says. Luke stays quiet. "Don't worry. Just go say hi and they will like you." He says again. "He's not so good with other kids." I say as I watch him walk towards the swings. "He'll be fine." Tom says.

"I see you around often." Tom speaks after some silence. "You and Luke. A lot of times. I was just afraid to talk to you." He says. I look at him confused. "Anyways, um, I'm sure you have a lovely family." He says when I don't reply. "It's just me and Luke." I say. "Where's Luke's father?" He asks in a demanding way. "Left us 2 years ago. I did meet him a few times but then he just gave up on us so I moved on." I say. "So you have been looking after Luke all alone?" He asks surprised. "Yeah. I'm used to it. He's my son." I say. "Y/n, he needs the love of a father. He needs a father." Tom says. "Tom please." I say before he could go on longer. "Listen, I have been wanting to ask you out for a long time but I was scared. I didn't want to ruin a family but knowing that you are doing things alone makes me want you more. What do you say? Will you go out with me?" He asks. I stare at him with shock. "Yes or no?" He asks. "Tom, it's just-" Before I could finish he speaks. "I know you are gonna say something about Luke but I'm all okay with this. I accept Luke." He says. I nod my head. "Is that a yes?" He asks. I nod my head again wiping the tears off.
