Wad's POV
Before class ended, my professor told me I was to find Professor Thorat. I messaged P'Prem I would be late for lunch and that Kongpop was going to be with me so he wouldn't worry.
"Why do you think Professor Thorat wants to see me?" I ask Kongpop.
"Isn't he the faculty advisor for our year?" Kongpop looks at me, puzzled. I shrug. "I will wait for you here," he adds as he points at a chair outside. I nod before I knock on the door.
"Come in," I hear through the door.
"Sorry I am late," I reply as I close the door behind me. When I look up, I want to scream. Why the hell are they here?
"You are not late," Professor Thorat smiles at me. "Sit down, please."
"Why am I here?" I hesitantly ask as I glare at them.
"I was really sorry to hear you would be transferring to Economics after this term," Professor Thorat tells me.
I whip my head around and look at the professor. What did he say? I am transferring to Economics. Who the fvck said that?
"You are one of our top students for your year," the professor smiles at me.
"Who told you I was transferring?" I ask, trying to stay calm as I continue to glare at the two beside me.
"Your father," Professor Thorat looks at me, confused before he smiles at my father. "I understand that N'Dean is going to mentor you to help you stay in your year."
WHAT THE FVCK! I turn and look at my father and see the smile on the evil bastard behind him. So this is why they are here. All of this is fvcking P'Dean's doing. That evil son of a bitch is trying to get me in his sick faculty? What the hell is he up to now? I hate that bastard! I look back at my professor.
"I am sorry you have been misinformed," I state. "I will not be transferring to Economics. Also, this man here might be my father, but he has no legal rights when it comes to me."
"Look here," my father growls, "You are my son, and I am telling you that you are transferring to Economics! You will listen to me!" Why can't this man get it through his head? He doesn't get to claim that anymore?
"No," I say through gritted teeth, "I will not. Professor, may I call my mother? She can confirm that this man has no custodial rights concerning me." I don't want to call and upset her, but I will if it would stop this lunatic.
"No need," Professor Thorat answers, looking concerned. "Let me check your records. It should be listed there. One second." I can hear him on his computer while I watch as my father's face contorts with rage before he smooths it over to address Professor Thorat.
"You don't need to do that, Professor Thorat," my father smiles greasily at him, "As a father yourself, I am sure you understand. You know that a father only wants the best for their son." Best for their son? You are a sick twisted old man.
"I understand that," Professor Thorat replies curtly, "But if what N'Wad is saying is true. Then you have no legal right to be here or discussing this. And if that also means I get to keep him in my program, then I am happy to check this."
My father's face goes red with anger as he turns and glares at me. I smile as I try to keep myself from laughing. I know I have won this. My father waived all rights when he divorced my mom. It is how he got the divorce. He didn't care what he gave up as long as he got to be with that stupid woman, and Mom wouldn't sign unless he relinquished his rights.
"It seems what N'Wad is saying is correct," Professor Thorat informs my father, "I believe you should leave." I can tell the professor is not happy to have been lied to by my father and is beginning to wonder what this is all about now.
"I will be back. I will go to court to get my rights back," my father snarls at me. "Then you will transfer out of this faculty and do what I say."
Why would he waste money on this? I will be twenty in a year. I hate this man.
"Go to court," I tell him. "I will go to court then also."
"Why would you go to court?" my father sneers. "What could you possibly do?"
"You failed to provide the support you were required to provide by court order," I grin. "You sue for custody. I will sue for the support you owe me. I wonder how much money that will be for all those years you forgot I was your son."
"Y-Y-You. How dare you threaten me!" my father yells.
"It is not a threat. I was just telling you the consequence of filing for custody," I reply calmly.
"I think I am going to have to ask you to leave," Professor Thorat stands. "It is clear to me that N'Wad is not your concern."
"I will leave," my father snarls at Professor Thorat. "But I will be back. And he will change to Economics!" I shake my head at this stupid man's empty threats.
"Professor Thorat, I will be going, too," I smile at him as I stand. I can tell he is upset with my father, but he seems pleased that I won't be transferring.
Walking to the door, I notice P'Dean and my father have yet to open the door and walk out. Shaking my head, I brush past them.
"This is not over," my father growls at me. Oh yes, it is you stupid, old man!
"I will get you in Economics before I graduate," P'Dean threatens. "You need to learn your place. I would hate for you to be alone. The world is a scary place these days."
I don't acknowledge their comments as I open the door. Outside the door, I find not only all of my friends but all of P'Prem's. Stopping, I turn and look at P'Dean.
"You should know your place. You are the bastard, not me," I hiss.
I can see Professor Thorat covering his mouth to keep from laughing as he sees what is behind me. I walk out to stand by my friends. Turning back to my father and P'Dean, I smile at the look of hate on P'Dean's face and anger on my father's.
"And as you can tell. I am not alone anymore," I say, emphasizing every word as I say it. "You should remember that."
My father and P'Dean look at my friends, and I can tell my father is glaring at P'Prem, whereas P'Dean has a sneer on his face. I smile, thinking it is time to wipe that off his face.
"Professor Thorat," I call.
"Yes, N'Wad?" he says as he walks to the door.
"The people who attacked me the other night," I start.
"Yes, what about them?" the professor looks at me questioningly.
"I remembered where I had seen one," I am smiling as I watch P'Dean's face turning red. "It was during the Freshy Games. He was on the basketball team for Economics. I think his name is Kiwi."
Professor Thorat looks at P'Dean then back at me, nodding, "I will look into that then. Thank you, N'Wad. You should go to lunch with your friends."
P'Prem puts an arm around my shoulder and smiles at my father, "Thanks, Professor. See you for lab tonight."
"Don't be late," Professor Thorat laughs before he closes the door.
P'Prem and I walk between our friends as they stand glaring at my father and P'Dean before they turn to follow us. I smile, knowing that I am not alone anymore and I will never be again.
Prem's POV
When N'Kongpop had messaged that Wad's father was in Professor Thorat's office, I about came unglued. What the hell was that son of a bitch doing here! Before lunch, I had split off from my friends to get a book for a paper at the library. Abandoning that, I ran to the professors' office.
When I got there, not only was N'Kongpop there but all of his friends and mine. I was about to knock, but when I heard Wad's father's raised voice.
"Y-Y-You. How dare you threaten me!" Wad's father yells.
"It is not a threat. I was just telling you the consequence of filing for custody," I smile as I hear Wad's quiet reply. Is that jerk trying to get custody of Wad? What the hell? That will never fvcking happen!
"I think I am going to have to ask you to leave. It is clear to me that N'Wad is not your concern." Professor Thorat says, sounding more than a little pissed.
"I will leave. But I will be back. And he will change to Economics!" I can't believe Wad's father is disrespecting our professor. Change to Economics? Like hell, that will happen. I am not letting Wad near that twisted faculty.
"Professor Thorat, I will be going, too," I am going to hug him when he walks out.
"This is not over," his ass father says.
"I will get you in Economics before I graduate. You need to learn your place. I would hate for you to be alone. The world is a scary place these days." That sick bastard P'Dean threatens Wad.
Why in the hell is P'Dean in there? Yeah, you should know, you fvcking asshole. You are the scariest thing in it. Why does he want Wad in Economics? He is leaving at the end of the term. What the hell is he planning?
Wad opens the door, and I have to stop myself from laughing at Wad's response.
"You should know your place. You are the bastard, not me," Wad growls, "And as you can tell. I am not alone anymore." Every word is spat with venom. He then comes to stand by us. "You should remember that."
I don't know about our friends, but I am sure as hell giving these two a death glare. I can see Professor Thorat smiling at us.
"Professor Thorat," Wad calls out.
"Yes, N'Wad?" Professor Thorat walks to the door.
"The people who attacked me the other night," Wad begins explaining. He isn't going to...? Is he?
"Yes, what about them?" our professor questions.
"I remembered where I had seen one. It was during the Freshy Games. He was on the basketball team for Economics. I think his name is Kiwi," Wad says innocently.
I have to stop myself from screaming, "In your face!" That's my boy!
I watch as Professor Thorat looks at P'Dean thoughtfully before looking back at Wad.
"I will look into that then. Thank you, N'Wad. You should go to lunch with your friends." Professor Thorat tells us. He knows that whatever Wad's father and P'Dean were up to is probably connected to the attack now.
Walking up to Wad, I sling an arm around his shoulder, smiling evilly at his piece of shit father daring him to say something, "Thanks, Professor. See you for lab tonight."
"Don't be late," Professor Thorat grins before he closes the door.
Turning around with Wad, my friends part, and we walk between them. I smile, seeing that I wasn't the only one giving a look that could kill. Wad is right. He isn't alone anymore, and if I have anything to do with he will never be again.

Broke the 2k rule but this chapter is at an end. I did research custody rights in Thailand. lol We come of age at 18 in the US 20 in Thailand. So I had to figure out Wad's age considering when students enter higher education. I have him at 18 closer to 19.
