EVELYN'S POV
I started my day off a bit later than I usually do only because I didn't have anything going on or so I thought.
But I had ended up getting a text from one of my good friends Harper who I haven't seen in quite some time.
So in summary she asked if she could come over tonight and we could have a little stay at home girls night you know the typical wine drinking watching romcoms and talking about our also non-existent love life.
And I, of course, agreed we had both been busy so I'm excited to finally catch up with my best friend.
It was 6 o'clock when Harper had shown up and we immediately went and got snacks before we retired to the living room to watch movies.
"So how have you been? I know we haven't talked for a bit with us both being so busy." She asked.
"Good, work has been kicking my butt but yeah other than that I've been good how about you?" I asked.
"Good mine and Chris' anniversary is coming up soon so I'm looking forward to that." Chris is her husband and their approaching their 6th anniversary.
"Oh yeah! So what do you have planned?" I asked excitedly.
"Well it wasn't the exact gift I was planning to give him but I found out some news a couple days ago and figured out what I'd do, I'm pregnant." She said smiling brightly.
"Oh my gosh! No way! Ahhh I'm so happy for you!!!!" I screamed pulling her into a hug.
She giggled hugging me back. "Thanks, I'm happy too I know he's been wanting a baby for a while now so I know he's gonna be undeniably happy." She smiled.
"Oh, I bet, oh my gosh I hope you will have a boy that would be so freaking adorable you with a little boy ah!!" I squealed.
"Wow, I feel like you have more excitement than I do." She joked.
"Oh please, you've had more time to think about it, while me on the other hand just found out so let me squeal in peace." I sassed back with a laugh.
"Hey, I'm not gonna stop you." She said as she raised her hands up in surrender.
"So how are you going to tell him?" I asked wanting to know every detail.
"I got a onesie that says, "surprise you're going to be a daddy" and then I also got a mug the at in the bottom of says "you're going to be a dad" and then I'm going to put the pregnancy test that I took in the box as well." She explained.
"Aww he's gonna be so happy, and as soon as you tell him call me." I playfully demanded.
"Will do." She smiled.
"So do you know how far along you are?" I asked.
"Uh the test said from 3-5 weeks but I'll know for sure when I go to the doctors in a few weeks." She explained.
"Aww, I can't wait!" I gushed.
"Okay enough about me, you know I always have to ask have you met anyone?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow.
I blushed looking down at my hands before looking back up at her instantly thinking about Oliver.
"Uhh yeah, I guess you could say that," I said timidly.
"Oh my gosh, who is he? Have I met him? Do I know who he is? Where did you meet him? What's his name?" She rambled question after question.
"Woah slow down, okay so no you haven't met him, uh we met in H-E-B his name is Oliver and he was Lucas' best friend," I explained.
"His best friend what did you mean how would you even know that they were friends?" She asked confused.
"I met him briefly at the airport when Lucas left for deployment, I mean I didn't think anything of it at the time I thought he was cute but I thought I'd never see him again, and then I had to go grocery shopping and we ran into each other he asked me out and took me on a date to the fair," I explained.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you! Look at us we are just having the life aren't we." She joked.
"Please you have more of a life than I do your married and expecting your first child, me in the other hand I've just gone on a date I don't even know if anything will come of it," I said.
"Hey now, don't say that you are an amazing person he would be damn lucky if something came of it and he got to be with you because you are just that amazing so stop implying you're anything else." She explained with a stern voice.
"Yeah, yeah okay whatever you say, okay so what movie do you want to watch?" I asked trying to change the subject.
"Uh is that even a question?" She asked.
"The fault in our stars is it." I put the disc in and sat back on the couch me and Harper cuddling under a blanket.
We continued watching movies for a few more hours before she decided to go back home and make sure everything was in order since she was telling him went he got off work.
Once she had left I cleaned up the living room and went upstairs to take a shower, once I got out I tied my hair up in a bun and threw on some shorts and a jumper before getting in bed and decided to just play on my phone for a bit.
As I was texting my brother Ben my text ping with off again but it wasn't Ben and just so happened to be Oliver.
Oliver: Hey are you up? If so can you call me?" He texted
I clicked on the text and went over to the call button and put the phone up to my ear hearing it ring before a deep voice rang through the other side.
"Good you're up how are you?" Oliver asked.
"I'm good how are you?" I asked back.
"Great now that I'm talking to you." He said making me blush.
"Whatever what did you need?" I asked.
"Well, I wanted to know if you would like to go on another date with me?" He asked making my heart speed up cheesy I know right.
"Uh I would love to," I responded.
"Great uh I was thinking we could maybe do a bit of a chill one so maybe we could chill at either my place or yours whichever you would be more comfortable with." He explained.
"Yeah that sounds great, and I think since you've gotten a chance to see my place it's only fitting for me to see your place am I right?" I joked.
"It does make pretty good sense to me." He chuckled.
"Me too." I giggled.
"So what do you say tomorrow around 5 and we'll just hang out watch some movies?" He asked.
"Yeah that sounds great, I look forward to it," I said smiling.
"I look forward to it too, I hope you have a good night Evelyn, goodnight." He said.
We said our quick goodbyes and good nights before hanging up.
I made sure my alarm was on and then placed my phone on my nightstand and turning my light out and letting sleep hit me.

A/N: Hope you enjoyed, this chapter was a bit short only because it was in a way a bit of a filler chapter.
But I promise the next ones will be worth reading if you think this one wasn't.
Also, I never intended for Harper to tell Evelyn she was pregnant it just happened as I was writing the chapter and I just went with it😂
