Camila's POV:
There's only one thing left to finish the gift, so I say goodbye to Dinah and leave the apartment. I start walking through the crowded streets of L.A. by myself when I bump into someone. "Oh God, I'm so sorry!" I say picking up the things we dropped. "Its okay, don't worry." She answers standing up. "Oh my God, Camila!" She suddenly squeals and hugs me. "Alexa Ferrer what are you doing here?" I say excitedly hugging her tight. "Its Lauren's birthday, are you kidding? We're here for the party!" She answers with a huge smile. "We?" I ask confused and she giggles. "Wow, you're getting hotter by the second." Vero says walking towards us. "Hey Vero." I say nervously as she hugs me. "I can't believe Lauren let you go, you're looking hotter than ever." She says staring me down. The last time I saw Vero she kissed me and that almost ruined my relationship with Lauren at the time. "Thanks, you guys look great too." I tell them trying to hide my evident nerves. "Is Lauren home? We wanted to surprise her before her family gets here." Alexa asks me. I haven't seen her family since before the videos happened and I'm sure they hate me so much now. "No, I think she's with Cole." I answer forcing a smile. "So Lauren and you are done? For good?" Alexa asks me frowning. "Yeah, we didn't work out, but Cole is a great guy and I'm back together with Austin, so everything's cool." I answer and Vero chuckles. "I thought I would finally have a chance with you, but I'm sure I can handle Austin Mahone, how old is he? Twelve?" She says laughing and Alexa elbows her. I always really liked Alexa, but Vero is kind of annoying sometimes, most of the time to be honest. "I always knew there was something between you two, Lauren doesn't look at anyone the way she looks at you, and that made me a little jealous." She adds with a smirk. "Yeah, but things happen for a reason. Look, I should get going guys, there's stuff I need to do. But I'll see you at the party!" I say hugging both of them. "Maybe we can finish what I started the last time we partied together." Vero says as I walk away. I don't even turn to face her because the blush on my cheeks is way too embarrassing. They're both beautiful, but Vero is look more stunning than usual. She's so intimidating, I can't even look at her without getting nervous as hell. And the fact that she constantly flirts with me doesn't make it any easier.
"Hi, I'm here to pick up a cake." I say leaning against the pastry shop's counter. "What's your name?" The guy who works there asks me. "Camila Cabello." I say almost whispering in case someone in the shop knows who I am, but I fail. "Oh my God, I almost didn't recognize you, but I love you, I'm a huge fan!" A girl standing next to me says hugging me. "Hey thank you! I love you too!" I say sweetly. "Here's your cake Ms. Cabello." The guy says handing me a white box. "Thank you!" I say with a smile and pay him. "Is that for Lauren's birthday?" She asks me excitedly. "Yeah, it is." I answer with a smile. "Aww that's so cute! I'm so sad you guys broke up, but once a Camren shipper, always a Camren shipper." She says laughing. "Don't tell anyone, but you're right, forever a Camren shipper." I say winking at her and leave the store with the white box in my hands. Tonight may be the last chance I have for making things right with Lauren, I can't screw this up by letting something stupid like Vero's flirting get into my head.
Lauren's POV:
"Cole I really got to go, I'll see you in like three hours." I say giggling as Cole kisses my neck. "I know, but I don't want to let you go." He answers with a grin. We have been parked in front of my apartment for twenty minutes, but he doesn't want to let me go inside. We spent our second night in a row together, and things are better than ever. I haven't felt like this in such a long time, these butterflies in my stomach every time he kisses me or smiles at me, its crazy. He makes me truly happy, and I hadn't been like that in a while, besides its my fucking birthday and I'll see my family today again! "Cole I have to go get ready and set everything up." I say fixing my messy hair. "I love how you say that." He says smirking. "Say what?" I ask smiling. "My name, it sounds so sexy when you say it." He answers putting a strand of my hair behind my ear. "Well Cole, I love you." I say pecking his lips. "I love you too." He says rubbing my blushed cheek. "But I really have to go, I'll call you later, okay?" I tell him and he nods. "Okay, but when I give you my gift you'll never leave me again." He adds winking. "We'll see about that." I say biting my lip and then finally get out of his car after a final kiss. I'm really liking where our relationship is going. Its like someone finally gets me, and that's an incredible feeling. I walk into our apartment with a huge smile on my face, which quickly fades when I see Ingrid behind the door. "Lauren where were you?" She asks crossing his arms. "Umm... I was..." I start stuttering like an idiot. "Hey Lauren, did you find everything for the party?" Camila asks walking towards the kitchen. "Yeah! That, I was buying the things for tonight, Cole will bring everything later." I tell Ingrid faking a smile. Camila saved my ass once more. "Well you should've let me know you were going out." She says frowning. "Yeah, I know, I'm really sorry." I answer looking at the ground. "Its okay. Now come here." She says pulling me in for a hug. "Happy birthday Lauren, I hope you have a good one." She says sweetly. "Thank you Ingrid." I answer with my best smile. "I'll be right back, let me get your gift." She adds walking to her room. Well that went better than expected, no doubt about that. I walk to join Camila in the kitchen and thank her for saving me, she didn't have to do it considering we had a huge fight a yesterday. "Hey, thanks about that." I tell her smiling. "Yeah, no problem." She says eating a bag of chips. Our eyes connect for what feels like an eternity, and she instinctively bites her bottom lip. "And umm... Happy birthday, I'll be here tonight." She says with a shy smile. "Come here you dork." I tell her hugging her tight. "I know we have been fighting a lot lately, but you're my best friend and nothing will change that, okay?" I tell her almost whispering. I hadn't had her close like this in a while, and it feels weird, it makes me remember about old times. "I know, I'm sorry I've been acting so stupid this past few weeks. Its just... Really overwhelming." She answers staring into my eyes again. The depth of her chocolate orbs makes my heart rush. Suddenly someone clears her throat, making us come back to reality. "Happy birthday Lauren." Ingrid says walking towards us and hands me a gift. I quickly unwrap it and find a big green book. "I thought you'd like it, its about a girl who's afraid to let go, but when she shows her true self, its impossible not to love her." She says staring at me with a soft smile. "Aww thank you so much, I love it." I tell her hugging her again. I can't believe I was a bitch to her for so long, she's literally one of the sweetest people I know. After a long hug she walks back to her room and I'm still a little overwhelmed because of the amazingly kind gesture. "I got you something too, but I'll give it to you later." Camila says making me look into her eyes again. "You didn't have to get me anything Camz." I tell her sighing. "Of course I did! You gave me the best birthday of my life in New York, the least I could do was get you something." She answers with a soft smile. Her birthday was probably one of the best days of my life, and I hate that she makes me remember that day. "But things were different back then." I say softly. "I don't care, you're still my best friend." She answers and bites her lip. My heart starts to rush for some reason, and the butterflies in my stomach come back. What the hell is going on with me? Suddenly someone knocks on our front door, making me and Camila look away. "I'll get that." She says walking to the door. I take a deep breath trying to sort my feelings, that was pretty intense to say the least. "Where's the birthday girl?" I hear a familiar voice and then see Vero and Alexa running towards me. "Oh my God, guys what are you doing here?" I ask hugging both of them. "We came to party, are you kidding?" Vero says giggling. "I missed you guys so much! Thank you for coming." I say smiling like an idiot. "No problem! Besides I wanted to see her again too." She adds pointing at Camila, who's standing a few feet away from us. "Vero please don't." I say seriously. "God, loosen up! I was kidding." She says chuckling, but Camila seems a little uncomfortable. "But I'm serious, she's off-limits." I say staring into her eyes. I know her, she's a flirt and she couldn't care less about other people's feelings. She's one of my best friends, and I love her to death, but I don't trust her. The last time she and Camila were alone she kissed her, even though back then she didn't know we were together. "Lauren I know, but you could've at least let me know you were dating. I wouldn't have kissed her if I knew, and I'm sorry about that. But damn, Camz, you're looking hot babe." She says with a grin. "Thanks Vero, so are you." Camila says rolling her eyes. "See? She has a sense of humor, unlike you." She adds and I feel my cheeks burning. "We'll come back later Lo, you need to get ready and shit." Alexa says easing the mood. "Yeah, I'll see you guys later." I say smiling at Alexa. She's always there to calm Vero down, I'm actually really lucky to have her. "Bye Camz, I'll see you later." Vero says winking and Camila just laughs. "I'll see you girls." She adds walking to her room. "Vero please, I'm begging you. She's my ex-girlfriend and I don't want you to hurt her." I say taking a deep breath. "Lauren I'm just kidding, I won't touch her okay? I know she's this precious little thing, don't worry." She says before walking out of the apartment. God, I don't know what to do about her. She has always had a thing for Camila, we all know that, but I don't know what she's capable of doing.
Camila's POV:
God Vero is just too fucking much. I'm not going to deny she's really cute, but her personality is too overwhelming. She's all over the place, and her flirting is way too aggressive, especially considering Lauren was standing right there and its her birthday. I don't know if she's making any ideas about us, but nothing will ever happen. I'm foolishly in love with Lauren, and that's all I should be thinking about. Our hug earlier was so weird, but its nice to be on good terms. I mean, we're not where I wish we would be, but at least we're friends. Best friends, like she said. But I know deep inside she still wants something else. The way she looked at Vero when she was flirting with me gave her away. She looked pissed as hell, her cheeks were red and her fists were so tight. She was clearly jealous, and that gives me a little bit of hope my plan won't fail. I should probably start to get ready. I'm so happy Austin isn't coming tonight, after my discovery I don't want to see him ever again. But I can't help but be completely sure Cole has something to do with everything. I won't tell Lauren that again, I learn from my mistakes sometimes, but there's got to be something I can do to protect her. But right now I just have to get ready and make sure everything is perfect for tonight.
After taking a long shower I start to pick out clothes. I need to put on something hot, but not too slutty. I want her to know I want her back, but I don't want her to think I just want sex, because that's not what I want at all. Our connection was deeper than just a physical thing. We understood each other, and we could all night long without stopping. It was scary sometimes, it felt like we were the same person in two different bodies. I loved making her laugh so much, even if it was just a giggle, the feeling I was making her happy made me so excited. It made me glad to know she liked being around me. And I really like being around her, but I want everything we had back. I want to wake up to her beautiful eyes and to kiss her until my lips hurt. I need her in my life, so badly. That's why tonight is so important, this might be my only chance. If she tells me she doesn't want me back maybe that's a sign I didn't make her as happy as I think I did and I should just let her free. Its hard to think that, but its probably the truth. Anyway, I have to try at least one more time. I end up putting on leather black shorts and my plaid crop top. I know Lauren has always loved this top, so why not? I blow dry my hair, style it and put on a black bow. I put on some make up, but not too much. I mean, Lauren has seen me when I look like freaking hell, make up won't fool her. After I'm done I look at myself in the mirror for a while. I don't know why am I so nervous, but I need to calm myself down or I'll end up saying or doing something really stupid. I take a deep breath and walk out of my room. Lauren probably needs my help to set everything up before people start to show up. Little did I know she was already getting help from someone else.
"You're the hottest party planner in the world, did you know that?" Lauren says putting her arms around Cole's neck. "And I'm dating the hottest birthday girl." He answers and kisses her lips. Gross, I'm going to puke. "Hey! Do you guys need help with anything?" I interrupt their make out session. "Hey Camila, you look nice." Cole says with a polite smile, and I feel Lauren's eyes staring me down. "Thank you." I answer smiling and set my eyes on hers. "God, I need to get ready too and my family will be here in any second. Could you guys please finish setting everything up?" Lauren says pacing around nervously. "Sure baby, we can handle this." Cole answers for both of us and I feel like puking again. "Thank, I love you." She answers kissing his lips before running to her room, and again I feel like puking, I'm sure she doesn't love him. "Thank Camz!" Lauren adds when she passes next to me and I smile at her. "So, first time meeting the in laws?" I ask Cole walking closer to him. "Yeah, should I be nervous?" He says chuckling. "Nah, not really. I mean, Mike can be kind of intimidating, you know? He's huge! And Clara might look at you like she hates you, but I'm sure she doesn't. Chris on the other hand is really protective, and he'll let you know how he feels about you. And Taylor is really nice." I say with a smile. This douche bag doesn't deserve someone like Lauren. "Well that makes me kind of nervous." He answers setting the cups. "Don't be, I'm sure they'll love you." I add grinning. Of course they won't love him, he's an idiot. "I hope so." He adds biting his lip. To be honest, I am extremely nervous about seeing the Jaureguis again. After all I'm the reason Lauren has multiple sex tapes and she's just eighteen. They must hate me so much after everything that happened. I don't even want to think about their faces when they see me again. And after a couple of seconds someone knocks on our door, so I don't have anytime to think at all. "Camila you look beautiful! I hadn't seen you in forever." Clara says hugging me as soon as I open the door. "Wow thank you! Come in." I say surprised as they walk into our new apartment. "Its nice to see you again kiddo, you have gotten taller." Mike says with a hug. "Its nice to see you too, I missed you guys." I say with a smile. Now that's awesome, they don't hate me. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Jauregui, I'm Cole." He says walking towards Lauren's family. Mike shakes his hand kind of aggressively, God he must me crapping himself. "Its nice to meet all of you." Cole adds with a smile. "Likewise." Clara says politely. "You must be Chris, I'm Cole." He says shaking Lauren's brother's hand. "Nice to meet you man." He answers uninterestedly. "And you're Taylor right?" He asks and Taylor nods. "We are the fangirls of the house." I say hugging the younger girl. "Oh my God, I'm so jealous Harry tweeted you again, I hate you!" She tells me completely ignoring Cole. This is going better than I expected. "Daddy!" Lauren yells running out of her room. "Happy birthday baby! I missed you so much!" He says hugging her. Lauren greets the rest of her family members before setting her eyes back on me. She looks stunning. That dress fits her body perfectly, her hair flows beautifully down her shoulders and her eyes look greener than ever. I can't help but smile like an idiot when I see her, she's too beautiful to be true. "We wanted to see you today, but since you're busy tonight we'll have lunch tomorrow okay? And you should join us Camila." Clara says sweetly. "Oh, no! Its a family thing." I answer smiling. They're completely ignoring the fact that Lauren's boyfriend is standing right there and they're not inviting him. "Come on, you're family!" Mike says putting his arm around my shoulder. Why are they being so nice? Dude, there are videos of me and their daughter doing some things family members shouldn't do. "Well we better get going before you friends start to show up! We'll see you tomorrow Laur." Her mom says kissing her cheek. "Thank you guys for coming!" Lauren says hugging her siblings. "It was so nice to see you Camila." Clara says with a warm smile. "Oh, and nice to meet you Cole." She adds before walking out of our apartment. "They're really nice." Cole says putting his hands on Lauren's waist. "Yeah, I love them." She tells him before pecking his lips. "So how do I look?" She asks spinning around. "You look..." "Amazing." I finish Cole's sentence without realizing. Lauren turns to face me and looks at me biting her lip. "Thank you Camz." She tells me flashing a smile. "You're welcome." I answer and I just know I'm blushing like an idiot. "Well, lets get this party started, shouldn't we?" Cole says handing us red cups. "Here's to the birthday girl." He says and we raise our cups. "To one unforgettable birthday."
