[Name] pouted slightly as she listened to Naruto talking to Sai, teasing her like he normally did. Why did today, of all days, make her feel worse than normal? Naruto always teased her this way and she had never taken it to heart before. So why now?
“Isn't that right, [Name]?” Naruto called out, getting the girls attention as she turned her [color] gaze towards the blond.
“What are you saying now Naruto?” she asked softly, pulling her knees up to her chest.
“I was saying you always blush I'm talking to you. Isn't that right?” he asked once more, looking over at her and probably trying to figure out what was wrong with her. Why hadn't she heard him the first time?
Frowning, [Name] pushed off of the rock she had been sitting on and ebgan to walk away from the boys, causing Naruto to blink in surprise and look down at Sai.
“Was it something I said?” he asked, receiving only a shrug from the pale boy. Naruto didn't know why he had bothered; Sai was the last person anybody should ask about when it came to things like feelings or hurting them. Naruto frowned when he realized that he had probably done just that, hurt [Name]'s feelings. He didn't know why today was any different; it was all only playful banter and nothing more.
However, Naruto knew exactly how she felt and he suddenly felt terrible for constantly messing with her. Sighing, he began to job slowly after [Name], easily catching up to her since she didn't seem like she was in a hurry to go anywhere.
“Wait up!” Naruto called, grabbing a hold of [Name]'s wrist when he finally reached her and pulled her to a stop. Sighing, the girl looked over her shoulder at him, causing her [length] [color] hair to move slightly in the process.
“What is it Naruto?” she asked, not wanting to have to put up with anymore of the blond's teasing.
“Look... [Name], I was only teasing you,” he stated.
“I know that Naruto... But it still hurts my feelings that you seem to be able to tease me so much without even thinking of how it would affect me,” she stated, looking up into Naruto's blue eyes with her own [color] ones. Naruto frowned slightly, thinking of what [Name] was sighing before he sighed slightly, nodding in response.
“You're right... You know, people used to be the same way to me. They'd say mean things even when they knew I could hear them. I think they did that on purpose, hoping to hurt my feelings. I eventually learned that I should ignore them,” he said, looking down at her.
“You know, I was doing it on purpose too. I hoped you would hear me, but I never wanted to hurt your feelings,” he said, causing [Name] to blink in surprise. So what had been his intentions?
“I only wanted to get you to notice me,” he said, lifting her hand and kissing it gently, smiling when he saw the blush that quickly spread across her face. “See, you even blush when I'm not talking,” he teased, winking before turning and heading back to where he had left Sai, leaving [Name] standing there by herself and only able to lift a hand to her now warm cheek as she watched the blond scurry away playfully.
