"Hey, Y/N, why don't you come over to my place tonight?" your schoolmate on University whom you study Criminology with, Matt McNeely, calls to you over the crowded hall of University of Minnesota. You feel looks from your jealous schoolmates on your back and all over you, making you blush slightly. Matt and you have been friends since the first day, but you never thought hanging out with him would bring so much hate. Not that you were the most popular girl in high school, you had few good friends and no one hated you for no reason, but university was a different story. Sure, Matt was one of the hockey players, meaning all the girls wanted to get close to him, but never succeeded. You, unlike them, are his friend because of him, not because of his status.
You approach him and playfully punch his arm: "No need to yell across the hall, you know? And maybe I will show up for few minutes."
"Come on. Other guys want to see you. Austin will be there," he tries to convince you. You blush and mumble: "So? He is your team mate..."
"Don't you wanna see him? We all know you like him..."
You punch his arm: "No, I don't and I don't know where are you getting that from?"
"You tell me. You look at him like he is god, you lose your ability to talk whenever he is near and not to mention, you are as red as a tomato right now. And I've just mentioned him."
"I hate you, you know that, right?"
"Yes. So...will you be there?"
"Fine, you annoying ass," you sigh and hear him chuckle. His arm snakes around your shoulders as he pulls you closer to him: "You love me."
"Do I have any other option?"
"Nope," he says, popping the "p" with his lips and making you laugh. Every girl close to the two of you looks at you, eyebrows furrowed in jealousy.
Later that day, right after the classes end, you and Matt head back to your dorms. Even though he lives closer to the university than you, he walks you home.
"You know, Y/N, I am really glad we are friends. You make me feel normal here."
You look up at him, secretly flattered: "You drunk?"
"No. I just want you to know that you are the best friend anyone could've ever wished for and I really wish you'd find someone worthy to be with you."
"Thanks, Matty," you smile and hug him. His strong arms wrap around you, pulling you closer and you realize you've never had a better friend in your entire life.
"See you at my place tonight then?" Matt mumbles in a crown of your head.
"Yeah. I'll be there, I promise."
"That's my girl!"
With that and the last hug, you say your goodbyes and you head to your room, where you start looking for the perfect outfit almost immediately. Not because of Austin... well, mostly really because of him. You stop in front of a mirror and sigh: "What happened to you, Y/N? You were never so nervous around a guy."
The answer is obvious- your mind, your preparations meant one thing. You are head over heels for Austin Farley.
"If I wasn't your best friend, I'd take you to a bedroom in this moment," is the first thing Matt says when he opens the door.
"Very funny. Am I the first one here?"
"The last one. Guys arrived much earlier. Come on in," he steps away from the door, letting you off the cold.
"May I take your jacket?"
You take of your jacket and hand it over to him: "You are being such a gentleman."
"Anything for a lady. So... guys want to play a game...you with us?"
"You know me. Which game?"
"Uh, Truth or Dare."
You look at him, mouth wide open: "Is this some kind of sick joke? I am the only girl here."
"Oh come on? What could possibly go wrong?"
You keep your thoughts for yourself as you walk in his living room, where the rest of his team is already gathered.
"Y/N! How are you?" Alex shouts from his place on the ground and waves his arm, making you believe guys are not completely sober anymore.
"Hey, guys<" you sit down next to Matt and smile to his team mates. Your eyes meet with Austin's and you blush a bit. Unlucky for you, all of the guys notice that.
"Hey, Y/N, why don't you sit down next to me? You can't always hang on Matt's shoulder," Alex pats the ground next to him and also next to Austin. You look at your friend, who doesn't seem to notice the purpose of Alex's requests and nudges your arm: "Yeah, you should sit a bit with others. You go along with all of us."
You stand up and slowly make your way to Austin and Alex, who gives you a toothy grin as you sit down next to him.
"Are we all ready?" Matt asks and spins a bottle, which lands on you.
"Truth or dare, Y/N?"
"Truth."
"Do you like anyone?"
Your eyes unintentionally jump to Austin as you answer, your face getting redder and redder every second: "No. I like no one."
You hear huffing from all of the guys in the circle and one of them even mumbles: "Yeah, right!"
Austin next to you is just smiling awkwardly, but you feel his eyes on you, making you blush even harder, if that's possible.
"Look how red she is!" one of the guys hollers, causing others to laugh a bit until Matt helps you: "Okay, guys, come on. Stop it. Y/N, spin it."
You spin the bottle which points at Nick Deery: "Truth or dare, Deery?"
"Since we haven't had enough drinks yet...truth?"
"For a warm up...what's the real reason you started playing hockey?"
"Chicks. Duh. Okay, my turn."
An hour passes and you are all a bit tipsy. Apparently, drinks have given you enough confidence to pick dare over truth. Plus, as the time passes by, you found yourself closer to Austin, blushing hard.
"Y/N, truth or-"
"Dare," you answer before Nick even asks. His face lights up, letting you know picking a dare was a mistake.
"Since you and 'Tin are so close now... seven minutes in heaven."
For a second or two you are completely speechless. They were planning this all along and Matt probably knew about it.
"Can I make it a truth?"
"Nope. Come on, Austin is not that bad."
Warm breath tickles your ear: "We don't have to do anything. We can just sit for seven minutes..."
You look over your shoulder and see Austin's eyes. Maybe he wants that as well, your rejection seems to hurt him.
"Damn you, guys."
Taking that as an approval, a pair of strong arms pulls you up and soon you find yourself stuffed in a dark closet with Austin next to you and winter coats behind you.
"So..."
"So... here we are."
"For seven minutes. In a closet."
You can't see his face, but you feel his breath on your skin and hear his laugh close to your ear.
"Maybe I've wanted this to happen," he whispers and you feel strong pair of hands grab your waist, pulling you closer. Having crush on him for a while, you give in, your lips connecting into a kiss. You open your mouth slightly, letting his tongue investigate your mouth.
"Mmmmm, someone's been drinking juice and some alcohol, eh?" he mumbles in your lips and wraps his tongue around yours, leaving you breathless. His hands fins their way under your T-shirt, cupping your breast and making you squeal in pleasure of him being close to you. You lean your palms on his muscular chest and start looking for buttons of his shirt. Slowly and teasingly, you start to unbutton them one by one, your fingers lingering on his bare skin, making him tremble a bit under your touch. You feel his breath on the skin of your neck when he stops kissing you. your fingers are still toying with his shirt as he pushes you against the corner of the closet with a loud thump.
His teeth graze soft skin of your neck, making you slightly moan and whimper at his touch. One of his hands finds its way in your hair and he buries fingers deep in your hair, making you tilt your head to the side, giving him more skin to play on. You finally manage to unbutton his shirt and your hands also move to his hair, pulling him closer to you.
"Seven minutes are-" a beam of light shines into a closet, but it takes some time for you and Austin to realize your time is up.
"Well... how was it?' Alex laughs and looks at Austin and you. You are both short on breath, your shirts wrinkled and Austin's even unbuttoned, your hair all messed up and all of yours extremities tangled like you two have grown together.
"Shut up," you mumble, blush returning to your cheeks. Austin next to you chuckles and says to Alex: "Can you leave us alone for a sec?"
Alex nods his head, sly grin on his lips as Austin shoves him away. As soon as Alex is away, Austin spontaneously pulls you in for another kiss, warmth of his lips embracing yours.
"I like you Y/N and I would love to do that sometime again soon. But with you as my girlfriend, not just a stupid dare."
"I hoped you'd say that, Austin Farley," you kiss him again. As soon as you both button up your shirts, you head back to the others, your hands tightly intertwined.
