Chapter 43 :
Laxus placed the empty glass down on the counter.
He glanced at the clock on the kitchen mantel.
It was seven and it was dark outside.
He drew the curtains close before making his way to the living room.
His thoughts swirled as he reminded himself that he needed to test his magic skills and abilities. Maybe ask for Jellal's help.
The muscular man walked past the room and reached the staircase when he heard it.
He sighed before turning to one of the couches in the dark room.
"When'd ya get back?"
His friend made no sound.
Laxus slid his hands into his pockets before he walked over to the couch where Jellal lay with a cushion over his face.
Jellal's hand twitched where it held the soft thing to hide his features. After a few more minutes, the blue haired boy seemed to remember something, because he groaned before clutching the cushion with his other hand as well.
Laxus raised an eyebrow.
"Whaddya doin'?"
He waited patiently for a reply, "You better not be blushin' or somethin'..."
Jellal sat up and placed the cushion down. "No, I'm alright."
Laxus just stared at the back of his friend's face.
Jellal slowly raked his hand through his hair, "I honestly believed she was under my control..."
Laxus made a disgusted noise, "Who?"
Jellal leaned over, "Erza Scarlet."
The blond haired man turned away with an exasperated sound.
Jellal looked up. "Laxus? Don't you want to know what happened?"
Laxus shook his head as he walked away.
Jellal watched the built man walk over to the stair case.
"Well, Erza is a great friend of Mira's." He said slowly.
The other boy stilled, "What's your point, Jellal?"
Jellal smiled, his self returning to normal and loving it.
Not that it hadn't been pleasant.
The kiss, he meant.
Other than scrambling his brains for a good many minutes, it hadn't affected him greatly.
The thing that still haunted him was the blush the great Erza had worn before entering her apartment. He almost groaned again.
Why did she have to be so... Erza?
"Order." Erza called and all her friend quietened.
Erza gave everyone a rather serious look before her beautiful face broke into a smile, "I do believe Mission Kinabra went well."
Lucy and Levy cheered.
Juvia was in a sad state of mind and couldn't be bothered at the moment.
Erza looked around at her friends.
Each one was especially special to her. Mirajane and her smile, Kinana and her sweet nature, Lucy and her kindness, Levy who was always happy about something or the other and, of course, Juvia and her unconditional, fiery love.
She sighed when she saw Juvia downcast.
The other girls were excitedly chatting among themselves as they sat together in the cottage where Levy, Juvia and Kinana stayed.
Something struck the redhead's mind and she turned to her bag quickly.
"Juvia, I have something for you."
Juvia looked up with a pout.
As soon as she saw what Erza held out to her, she squealed.
"Erza!! Do you really mean to give that over to Juvia?"
Erza nodded at the lovely swimmer.
"Juvia really loves you, Erza!" She sighed as she delicately took Gray's bracelet from Erza's palm.
The gorgeous swimmer slid the bracelet slowly onto her wrist. After a moment, she squealed before dropping into Kinana's lap with a contented smile.
Erza noticed Levy roll her eyes and couldn't help but laugh.
Lucy joined her.
Erza's eyes landed on Lucy and the blond stopped laughing to swallow nervously.
"Lucy..." Erza smiled, "When I was driving back with Jellal, I couldn't help but notice you and Natsu rather cosy on a bench."
Lucy's cheeks flamed as Levy cooed and Mira began to giggle.
"Lu, you little pervert!"
"I am not, Levy!"
Erza smiled to herself. The redhead remembered slamming on the brakes and nearly injuring Jellal, when she'd seen the pair.
To be honest, they had looked perfect and normal together.
With Natsu's contented smile as he rested his head on Lucy's slender shoulder.
Lucy was trying to explain, without looking at Levy's smug smile, the innocent events that'd taken place after Natsu and her has left the amusement park.
"... and so I let him." Lucy finished, trying really hard to keep her voice casual, Erza noticed.
Mirajane smiled before looking over at Erza.
Erza's stomach immediately knotted.
After years, Erza and Mirajane knew each other better than their own selves.
"Erza," Mirajane began in her sweet voice, "Why don't you tell us how things went for you?"
"Um," The usually calm girl began to stutter.
Mirajane knew something about the something that she shouldn't.
Erza groaned as her thoughts stopped making sense to herself.
Mira leaned forward with the soft gleam that spelled danger for anyone she shipped with another person.
"Um, I, well, WE, that is, Jellal and I, we, uh, " Erza tried to piece her scattered thoughts together as a particular event of the evening replayed in her head.
She blushed before clearing her throat.
When she glanced around, she was met with the horrified expressions of all her friends. Except, of course, Mirajane.
The silver haired beauty only smiled serenely.
"We, um, WELL," Maybe being louder would help.
"Erza..." Levy whispered, "I have a hundred scenarios in my head after your reaction... Please just tell us..."
Erza's face colored again, "Levy! We only kissed."
"I would say rather that you made him," Mirajane giggled as Erza groaned.
So her suspicions had been true.
Mirajane had probably watched the couple from somewhere.
Erza turned back to her friends to see raised eyebrows.
"Erza..." Levy whispered, "How forward of you..."
Lucy, Juvia, Mira and Kinana burst out laughing as Erza sighed.
This should've been only Kinana's day.
Oh well, she thought to herself as she smiled slowly, It hadn't been that bad.

Also, I just watched the first episode of Psycho Pass... I'm kinda creeped out.
The episode was awesome but I was totally shocked by how intense it was...
