A/N: Hey, everyone, here's the next chapter!
Thank you soooo much for waiting...
It's just that some of you are so good at writing that I get sidetracked reading!
Anyway, please let me know if my Gajeviness is good or bad.
Recap: Levy's heart sank even as she heard footsteps echo behind them.
They were at a deadend.
"I don't mind gettin' caught." Gajeel said to her in a low tone, still holding on to her hand, "But I know you do."
Levy was touched that this boy she'd been afraid of would go to such lengths to keep out of trouble.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a door.
And without thinking, she pulled at Gajeel, "There!"
"Wai-"
Levy pulled open the door and ran through, looking behind her to see whether Mr. Macao was coming.
And that was when she lost her footing and began falling from a seven feet long stairwell.
Chapter 10:
Levy felt a strong arm wrap around her waist as a scream began to build in her throat.
Gajeel pulled her up and placed her softly down next to him.
He watched as she stumbled, a little out of balance, and quickly put out a hand to steady her, amused at how delicate this slender girl was.
Levy blinked once. Then twice and a blush began to spread across her cheeks.
"Aha!"
Gajeel wanted to roll his eyes.
Mr. Macao had finally caught up.
"I believe you kids should follow me to the principal's office!" He said almost victoriously, his blue hair gelled back.
Gajeel glanced at Levy.
Levy's face so sorrowful, she looked like she'd just been told about a relative's tragic death.
Macao's eyebrows shot up when he saw her.
"Levy?" He voiced, "Levy McGarden?"
"Yes, sir." She said softly.
Gajeel cocked his head to the side, intently watching the drama.
"Ms. McGarden, I am shocked to say the least!"
Macao looked shocked too, Gajeel noted.
"I- I am sorry, sir. I really am, I just, I forgot an-"
"C'mon, let 'er off. Warnin', right?" Gajeel asked finally.
Would they give it a rest? They were late, not murderers.
Somehow, he didn't like to see that soft, little girl stutter and squirm because of someone besides him.
"I'm sorry, Gajeel, I can't do that." Macao said, "Rules are rules but-"
He was cut off by loud, gleeful laughter that came echoing through the halls.
It sounded like Salamander and that blond girl.
Gajeel grinned just as Macao sighed.
"Hold on, you two. Looks like we have more trouble makers today."
---------------------
Lucy bent over, her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath.
Natsu had just made her laugh for the fifth time and they'd been so loud that one of the teachers-in-charge of discipline had come after them.
Of course, the two had made a run for it, Lucy's stomach still aching from laughing so hard.
She couldn't believe how much like bestfriends they seemed already.
Natsu had asked her about her family and when she'd sweetly sidetracked the subject, he'd tickled it out of her.
Lucy straightened up with a sigh. Jude and Layla were good parents but sometimes, her father and her just didn't see eye to eye.
"So, your old man doesn't like Fairy Tail High, huh?" Natsu guessed.
"He doesn't not like it, Natsu. It's just," Lucy went through a few painful memories in her mind, "He'd much rather have me homeschooled and I... I love Fairy Tail High. I've always loved Fairy Tail High."
Natsu grinned, "'Coz it's the best school ever, right?"
Lucy smiled back, "Yeah."
Footsteps echoed down the hallways and Natsu frowned, "Macao."
"Who's that?" Lucy asked, unsure of the school teachers as she was still new.
"Another teacher in charge. He and old Wakaba are good buddies," He said, making his way down the hall, away from the footsteps, "Come on, Lucy."
Lucy ran after him.
"Not so fast, you two."
Lucy and Natsu whirled around to see Macao.
Behind him stood Levy and a griining Gajeel.
Natsu's eyes lit up, "Got you too, eh, Metalhead?"
"You can't talk, Salamander." Gajeel retorted.
"At least, I didn't get caught first." Natsu was getting ready to fight.
"At least, I didn't give my location away by shriekin' like an idiot!"
Lucy took offense at that.
"Alright, boys. Stop it." Macao said finally. "Since it's the first time for Levy and that young lady over there, I'm gonna let you off without seeing the principal."
Lucy let go of a breath and saw Levy's face relax too. Was that metal pierced guy watching Levy?
"But rules are rules, so you will all do an hour of detention with me." He smiled, satisfied with his decision.
"Aw, man." Natsu complained, "That's so not fair! I wanna see Gramps."
Lucy began to giggle.
Macao sighed, "Natsu Dragneel, please don't give me any more trouble. Now you kids, get to class."
------------------------------------
"... And that's why we have detention." Lucy finished.
Erza nodded. "Forgive me, Lucy. It's my fault you got into all that trouble. I'm sorry."
"Oh, don't be! It wasn't your fault!" Lucy responded to the redhead.
Erza smiled in reply.
The two pretty girls heard a splash and turned their attention to the pool.
It was break time now and so, the girls had decided to come and watch Juvia swim.
The swim coach, Ms. Aquarius, had left and Lucy was glad.
That woman and her didn't exactly gel. Something about getting a boyfriend.
Lucy turned her attention back to Juvia.
Juvia used graceful strokes to swim across the pool, a determined look on her face.
Lucy watched her cut through the water, "She's good."
"She is." Erza agreed, "She's in the swim team."
"Levy told me," Lucy said, "and I heard that her first swimming competition for the year is coming soon."
"We will be there to cheer her on!" Erza declared and Lucy nodded in agreement.
Mira, Kinana and Levy walked through the doors and made their way over.
"We brought food," Mirajane smiled and handed a few biscuits over.
The girls settled down to nibble on biscuits.
"Mira agreed to be Principal Makarov's assistant." Erza stated calmly.
Mirajane smiled.
"Really?" Levy asked, "Gee, I hope it's not too muchwork."
"I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I was called to his office in the morning for a briefing. Already the master and I know what and how to work. together." Mira smiled a sweet smile.
Lucy smiled back.
Mirajane had a soft, almost kind nature that seemed to reach out to evryone, "So you'll spend your free classes working?" Lucy asked.
"A few of them. And later, I'll go over to the Principal's house and sort a few things out."
"Cool." Lucy responded.
That was work but Mirajane didn't seem to mind.
Erza opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by Mira.
"It's alright, Erza. It's not your fault. I keep telling you, I like this job."
Erza only nodded.
Lucy paused while biting off a bit of her biscuit.
Erza and Mira were definitely close.
"Speaking of free classes," Levy said, "Kinana, I heard you were volunteering at the library."
Kinana smiled, "Yes. I have one more free period after break. Would you like to come, Levy?"
Levy gave Kinana a huge smile. "Yes! I'm free too, I'll go with you."
Erza stood up then and all the girls turned to her, "Bear in mind, though, ladies. We have our first defence class this evening and the head master is coming to watch."
The girls nodded.
"Don't worry, Erza." Mirajane said in her sweet voice, "You'll do great and the master will have no problem appointing you."
Erza smiled, "Thank you, Mira. I hope you're right."
----------------------
Juvia climbed out of the pool. She grabbed a towel and began wiping her wet face. The girls had left a while back after each biding her a goodbye.
Juvia smiled to herself. They were nice friends. Friends she was glad she had made.
Juvia's childhood had been a little depressing. She'd had no friends.
Ocassionally, Gajeel stepped in to save her from bullies but he never stayed to chat or play.
Then, she'd joined Fairy Tail High and had met so many sweet people. They were like family to her.
She sighed softly as she opened the door to the locker room. Changing quickly to a beautiful sea green top and a denim skirt, she stepped back out.
Juvia grabbed her bag and made her way to the exit in the swim room.
The door opened and in stepped the one person who made her heart stop and then restart again.
Gray Fullbuster.
He walked in, letting the close behind him. He looked around the empty, large room till his gaze rested on Juvia.
His eyes widened just a little to acknowledge her and then he walked over.
She could only stare as he strode over to her.
He stopped in front of her and gave her a small smile.
"Hey, I'm Gray Fullbuster. You must be Juvia Locksar?"
An unconscious Juvia fell straight into his arms.
A/N: I'm grinning sooooooooo wide right now!
Tell me what you think!!
Ciao!!
