After winning my final Sinnoh badge at the Sunyshore City gym, Dawn and I went back to Sandgem Town where we stopped at the Pokemon center after noticing that it was getting very late so we had dinner and went to bed for the night and in the morning we had breakfast and went to Professor Rowan's lab and he told me that that there was a Sinnoh league tournament at a place called Lily Of the Valley Island where the winner gets to battle the elite four and champion. He also gave me a galladite so I could mega evolve Psycho and offered me a garchompite but I turned it down. He then gave us tickets to the ferry that took us there and when we arrived, I registered myself for the tournament and learned that the opening ceremony was the next day so I took the opportunity to spend the rest of the day training my pokemon. By the end of the day, the movesets of my pokemon were, Scorchimp: flare blitz, close combat, mach punch and thunder punch, Brave Bird: brave bird, double edge, close combat and u turn, Buzz Buzz: thunder punch, fire punch, ice punch and thunder wave, Jawbreaker: earthquake, dragon claw, iron head and stone edge, Psycho: psycho cut, close combat, night slash and leaf blade and Serpentina: surf, ice beam, recover and hydro pump. The next morning I had a rest since I felt as though I was ready and that evening we had the opening ceremony where I saw Barry for the first time since before I got my first badge and said that we would be split into groups of 8 trainers each and that the trainer with the most points after everyone had battled everyone would move on to the round of 16 and when the opening ceremony was over, I saw him talking to Dawn. The next morning Dawn and I went to the stadium for my first match and she went to the stands to watch me. I then went on to win all my matches before finding out that my final opponent before the round of 16 was Barry. Our match was very close and when we both got down to our final pokemon of 3, it was Scorchimp vs Barry's empoleon. "Empoleon, use hydro pump." Said Barry. Then I said, "Dodge and use close combat." Scorchimp just barely got out of the way of empoleon's hydro pump attack and thrashed it super hard knocking it out in one hit. "Empoleon is unable to battle, infernape wins, so moving on to the round of 16 is Jason." Said the referee. Dawn raced over to me from the stands and we hugged each other for about 30 seconds before Dawn went over to Barry and hugged him for putting up such a great fight. We then went back to the hotel to have dinner and go to bed and in the morning we had breakfast and found out who my round of 16 opponent was and when I battled him I won 6-4, in the quarter final I won 6-3 and in the semi final I won 6-2. The night before the final, Barry told us that he had to go home, but he asked us if we could video chat until we saw each other again. Dawn and Barry then hugged each other goodbye and then she and I went back to the hotel for the night and in the morning we had breakfast then we went back to the stadium for the final match. The battle that ensued was an incredibly exciting and close one with a mega evolved Psycho taking out his mega tyranitar to win the match. "Tyranitar is unable to battle, gallade wins, so the opportunity to battle the elite four goes to Jason." Announced the referee. After I called Psycho back to his pokeball and thanking him for winning me the Sinnoh league tournament, Dawn and I ran over to each other and hugged each other tight for about a minute. We then went to the location of the elite four and had lunch and a brief nap before going to battle the first member of the elite four Aaron who I easily beat with Scorchimp and Jawbreaker. The second member of the elite four I battled was Bertha who I also easily beat with Psycho and Serpentina. The third member of the elite four I battled was Flint who just before our battle, told me that he was best friends with Volkner. In the battle itself, Flint was easily defeated by Jawbreaker. The final member of the elite four I battled was Lucian who was a lot stronger than the other elite four members and by the time he was down to his final pokemon gallade, I only had Jawbreaker who was very beaten up and Brave Bird left. Gallade took Jawbreaker out after taking a dragon claw and then I sent out Brave Bird. Then I said, "Brave Bird, use brave bird." Brave Bird struck gallade right in the face knocking him out winning me the battle that allowed me to battle the Sinnoh champion Cynthia who said, "Hi Jason, I want to thank you for helping to save Sinnoh from Team Galactic. We then got into our positions and I sent out Scorchimp while Cynthia sent out spiritomb. Then I said, "Scorchimp, use flare blitz." Scorchimp, covered in flames, charged at spiritomb and hit it hard doing big damage but it just barely held on. "Spiritomb, use shadow ball." Said Cynthia. Spiritomb's shadow ball attack hit Scorchimp decently hard but he held on quite comfortably. "Scorchimp, use flare blitz again." I called out. Scorchimp's next flare blitz attack hit spiritomb harder than before taking it out with Scorchimp just barely surviving the recoil damage from using flare blitz. "Spiritomb is unable to battle, infernape wins." Said the referee. After calling back her spiritomb, Cynthia sent out her garchomp. I then said, "Scorchimp, use mach punch." Just as soon as I had finished my sentence, Scorchimp hit garchomp hard doing surprisingly decent damage. "Garchomp, use earthquake." Said Cynthia. Garchomp shook the ground hard and took Scorchimp out. "Infernape is unable to battle, garchomp wins." Said the referee. After calling Scorchimp back to his pokeball and thanking him for his efforts, I sent out Serpentina. "Garchomp, use earthquake again." Said Cynthia. Garchomp shook the ground harder than before and did big damage to Serpentina but she took the attack quite comfortably. Then I said, "Serpentina, use ice beam." Serpentina fired off a cold beam of energy at garchomp doing huge damage taking it out in one attack. "Garchomp is unable to battle, milotic wins." Said the referee. Cynthia called back her garchomp and sent out her lucario. "Serpentina, use surf." I called out. A big wave came over lucario doing big damage but it just barely held on. "Lucario, use aura sphere." Said Cynthia. Lucario shot out a ball of energy which hit Serpentina hard and knocked her out. "Milotic is unable to battle, lucario wins." Said the referee. I then called Serpentina back to her pokeball and sent out Jawbreaker and said, "Jawbreaker, use earthquake." Jawbreaker shook the ground hard doing huge damage taking lucario out. "Lucario is unable to battle, garchomp wins." Said the referee. After calling lucario back to it's pokeball, Cynthia sent out her own milotic. Then I said, "Jawbreaker, use earthquake." Jawbreaker shook the ground harder than before doing huge damage but it just barely held on. "Milotic, use ice beam." Said Cynthia. Milotic's ice beam attack hit Jawbreaker ultra hard but somehow he just barely held on himself. "Jawbreaker, use dragon claw." Jawbreaker slashed clean through milotic knocking it out. "Milotic is unable to battle, garchomp wins again." Cynthia called back milotic and sent out togekiss. Then Jawbreaker, solidifying himself as the strongest pokemon on my team, took togekiss out in one hit with a surprisingly powerful stone edge attack and then he took Cynthia's final pokemon roserade out with one dragon claw. "Roserade is unable to battle, garchomp wins, so the new champion of the Sinnoh league is Jason." Announced the referee. After calling Jawbreaker back to his pokeball and thanking him for his incredible battling, I dropped to the ground in relief and exhaustion and Dawn walked over and hugged me for what must have been about 5 minutes before I got my energy back and followed Cynthia into the hall of fame and registered my pokemon in there before coming out and then Dawn and I went to the closest pokemon center for dinner since it was getting late and we went to bed for the night and in the morning we had breakfast and started to make our way back to Sandgem Town.
