This isn't really Mergana, but....
Everyone could turn into an animal. It was a part of life. Most people don't do it really much, so the animals would form into tattoos on the persons body. The animals represented the persons personality. Eventually, the people learned a trick. If you tap the back of their necks, their animal forms will be revealed. This caused for some epic pranking.
Merlin always wore a scarf to protect himself from these pranks. He learned the hard way after part of the village he lived in before Ealdor burned because of the prank. He and his mother moved shortly after. He would always sit on the sidelines of the game, laughing when people turned out to be a cockroach, or ant.
Of course, destiny planned this to happen, Merlin thought as the knights invited him to join the game. Arthur, Leon, Percival, Gwaine, Mordred all sat around the campfire. Of course.
Gwaine went first, aiming for Leon. Tapping the back of Leon's neck, Gwaine scurried away as Leon turned into a goose. Not just any goose, though. An angry goose.
After that, Leon aimed straight for Gwaine, pressing hard. It was funny to watch Leon run from the black bear.
After that, Arthur aimed for Percival, not really surprised when the log crunched under the polar bear.
Percival aimed for Mordred, and a Wyvern flapped it's wings above the place Mordred was sitting.
Mordred aimed for Merlin. Nothing.
Merlin smirked as they all stared at him. "UNTIE HIS SCARF!!!!" Oops. Running from the horde of knights. "How about Arthur goes!" He screamed, and the knights turned to the king. Gwaine tapped his neck. A donkey was in the place where Arthur was a second ago. "NOW ITS MERLINS TURN!!" Arthur said when he changed back. Merlin winced.
For anyone nearby, as the black dragon swooped in the air, they would have also heard screams as the babyish knights and king peed their pants.
