Chapter 14: Unexpected Bonds

When I finally reached Sterling's house- scratch that a freaking mansion. Right, I forgot Sterling's father is one of the richest men in here along with Justin's too.

I see four bikes parked before the mansion. I recognized those bikes from the night of the party and I knew something was up.

I heard noises "go upstairs!!" it was Sterling.

Just then the sound of the door opening with a bang was heard

"Well, well, well if it isn't the famous Sterling Johnson" then there was chuckling in the background, I think it was the guy from the racing tracks. "Cut to the chase, what do you want?" Sterling said.

I peeked from the window. Sterling was standing with his arms folded on his chest while the racing dude was swinging a gun in his hand and there were 2 guys behind him with knives in their hands.

"You know what I want. Get it done by tonight or what's the name of the little one?" He asked the guy behind him.

"Chase" the guy answered "Yeah him. He goes down." He chuckles.

I feel seething anger towards him. Just then I get an Idea, those dudes are about to exit when I throw pebbles on the stairs from the pot beside and then pour water over it and hid behind the bushes.

As soon as he steps out of the house he and his goons slipped and groaned as they try to get up while holding their backs and cursing as they limped towards their cars.

While I'm trying my hardest not to laugh when I catch Sterling's eye who is doing the same.

As soon as their cars go, I stand up and burst out laughing with Sterling.

After we sober down "I know you want answers. I will give you the answers to every question. But can you please watch the kids over? I'll explain as soon as I come back." Sterling asks, "Of course I'd love to. Also I love kids." I smile. He sighs in relief and calls "Lilly! Come down with Chase, look who's here."

A few minutes, Lilly comes down with a toddler in her arms. Her brows furrow in concentration as she struggles to balance the toddler in her hands and walk down the stairs. She beams when she successfully comes down without dropping the toddler, I think her face would split if she grinned any further as she does when she spots me. "CATHY!!!!" squealing she places the toddler near Sterling, stumbling in my arms, I hold her just in time, I pick her up, throwing her up as she laughs. I put her down, suddenly she remembers something. Scrambling away from me, she picks the toddler. "This is Chase, he's my brother- well not a real brother like Ster-Ster but I know he's my brother- you know what I mean" I laugh at her rant. "Hello, cutie" I greet Chase. In response he looks up at me with big doe eyes before giggling, I melt instantly. Sterling picks her up laughing too, kissing her cheek, he says

"Hey, I have some work to do, so Catherine here will take care of you. Don't cause much trouble okay?" She giggles, kissing his cheek, his eyes soften. Aww.

Finally getting up, he first kisses Lilly and Chase's forehead before surprising me by kissing my cheek too, I blush. Lilly giggles as Sterling laughs. I shove him out of the door, before turning to Lilly with Chase still in my arms

"So, who's up for some fun?"
