Chapter One-Hundred and Seven

Start from the beginning

"I promise." I whisper, rubbing his back.

Adjo lets out a loud cry as he holds onto me. "H-How did this happen?" He cries.

"W-Why did this happen, M-Mia?" He whimpers.

I gulp. "I didn't get this disease like how your sister did.." I softly say.

"Then how, mama?" Adjo looks up at me.

My eyes widen. He just called me mama... Oh my gosh. My heart melts a little with love.

"Adjo, I've made some bad decisions in my life before I met Michael. I-I did things and.." I clear my throat.

Drugs, met the wrong men..

"I want you to be careful in life, Adjo." I sternly say through my tears.

"I know it's hard to lose someone so close to you... I just-" I stop myself.

I went through all that hell with Kevin since he lost his mother young. I know Adjo isn't related to Kevin at all, thank god for that, but it can happen to anybody. It's horrible because the recovery can cost anybody's life. I've gone through that and I don't want history to repeat itself with Adjo or any of my girls.

I sigh, "We just need family and love, baby.. Alright?" I close my eyes.

Adjo sniffles, I feel his head nod. "Okay." He squeaks.

I gently pull Adjo away from me, looking at him in the eyes.

"Will you promise me something, Adjo?" I ask him.

Adjo nods, "Yeah." He softly says.

I sigh. "W-When I go.. M-Make sure you watch out for your sisters, alright? They have my genes, I don't want them to end up like me." I furrow my eyebrows.

They might become fragile, they might choose drugs, they might become anorexic. As long as Michael and Adjo are there, they should straighten my girls out.

I didn't have a family to straighten me out. It was too late by then. I'm paying the consequences with my own health and money.

Adjo slowly nods.

I lean closer to him, kissing his forehead.

I weakly smile, "You all don't need me anyway, right?" I smirk as a few tears roll down my cheek.

Adjo shakes his head. "Everybody needs you, mama." He whimpers.

My smile disappears as it turns into a frown.

I pull Adjo in again for a warm embrace. "I love you, Adjo. Don't you dare forget that." My voice wobbles.

Adjo sniffles, "I love you too." His voice cracks.

"Everybody on set in five!" John, the director, calls out.

I grin as Michael approaches me.

Michael bites his lip, "Wow.." He breathes, staring at me.

Michael gently pulls me closer to him. "You look.. Sexy." He smirks.

I blush. "I hope so." I shyly say.

Michael chuckles, leaning closer to me as he pouts his lips.

I tilt my head, pouting my lips as well as I lean in.

"Hey, hey! Alright alright! Save it for the scene." Eddie Murphy grins.

I clear my throat as Michael and I awkwardly let go of each other.
