Chapter 13: Coding Favour

"Well hello to you too Justin" I sarcastically smiled at him.

Katelyn is quick to rush to his side asking him how he is, out of the corner of my eye I notice Jason looking at them with a certain emotion, I waved it off.

"Well, Jesse missed you so we decided to come after school"

Zander explains and Jesse turns red in embarrassment

"I did not, " he exclaims, still red.

"Aww you did" Justin mocks him by accidentally placing his injured hand on his hand as he winces, Katelyn scolds him. He looks like a child you just got caught stealing a cookie.

"Hey, what happened to your wrist Jason?" Justin asks as he notices the black plaster around his wrist, Jesse starts laughing hysterically while Jason scowls at the floor.

"Look for yourself" Jesse shows him the video which was probably viral all over the school.

"Damn" Justin comments looking me wide-eyed, I shrug "She deserved it" winking at Katelyn as she mouths a 'thank you' to me. I start to panic when I realize what just happened. "Jesse, can I talk to you for a minute? Alone." I step out of the ward with Jesse following behind. "What's up," he asks with his hands in his pocket.

"Can I ask you for a big favor? You can't tell anyone about this. Is that alright?" I say in a low voice.

"Sure. My lips are sealed" he assures

"I know that you are really good at coding stuff, can you please take the video down? I'll be in trouble if a certain someone finds out that I'm in that video." I plead.

"Sure, gimme a minute." He takes his iPad out of his bag and starts writing some coding. After exactly a minute he shuts his iPad off and looks at me. "It's gone now, but I'm curious about something, why didn't you ask Zander or better do it yourself?" he looks at me curiously

"Zander will tell Sterling which I don't want. Also, I've not done coding in a long while, so I'm a little rusty and I don't want any mistakes" I explain and he nods in understanding.

As soon as we enter everyone's eyes are on us, Sterling has some weird emotion in his eyes as he stares at us. I cough awkwardly as Sterling continues to glare at Jesse.

"So, what were you guys doing?" Zander asks glancing at Jesse.

"Oh, nothing important. It's between me and Catherine. You guys don't need to worry" Jesse smirks, I knew what exactly he was doing.

I nudged him, signaling him to stop provoking Sterling. But he doesn't understand instead he slings his arm along my shoulder "What?" he whispers into my ears.

"I said stop provoking him" I whisper back. He smirks at me before leaning closer whispering, "Who?" But before I can say anything, we hear a loud shattering noise.

Jesse steps back from me as everyone stares at Sterling who is still glaring at Jesse and now has his fist clenched with the vase shattered on the floor.

He suddenly snaps out of his trance, looking at the broken vase he rubs his head "Oh, it just broke. I didn't do it, " he said, which was followed by an awkward silence. Justin seems to get it because "Wait, so how does Jason fit in all this?" Justin looked confusedly at Jesse. Jesse was soon absorbed in telling him.

As soon as Jesse finish explaining to him about the incident. "Of course, all the drama was bound to happen when I am no present" Justin pouted.

While the rest of us rolled our eyes. Just then Sterling's phone vibrated, and he left the room

"This place sucks. I want to get out, " Justin whined, cue the eye roll.

"What? .... I wasn't informed" I couldn't help but eves dropping on Sterling's conversation as he cussed on the phone "No, are the kids home...... shit, I'm coming"

I quickly scrambled away from the door, after a few minutes he entered back the room. He stood there silently conversing with Zander, he nods in confirmation at Sterling after they eye conversed.

I couldn't help but notice Justin's distractedly nodding at whatever Katelyn was nodding as his attention was fully on Sterling and Zander.

"There's an emergency I need to go, I'll see you guys tomorrow." Sterling was out with one last glance at me.

After I finally excused myself too, I went to the restroom. By the time I came out everyone was gone, even Justin was out of bed.

I crashed into Katelyn "hey, where's Justin?" But she looked at me weirdly "In his bed. Duh."

After baying my goodbye to Katelyn I made my way down the hall but halted when I saw a white bandaged wrist taking the support of the wall, I couldn't see who it belonged to because the figure was leaning towards the other side of the wall. Completely hidden. I looked in the direction, the figure was to see Sterling is getting out of the parking lot.

I didn't know whose the figure was of, but I knew whose wrist was bandaged white and who was distracted when Sterling came in after the call. Who was out of his bed?
