Alina's POV:

5:53 PM

We arrive in New York, for an important show we had planned ever since last year. I usually come here for shows and bring my dad, but I only go alone when i'm just visiting, just to get some downtime.

We're here for The Cagebirds, a show I performed when I was only 13, and I have been waiting to direct this for god knows how long. I'm so fucking excited.

I agreed with my dad to leave him in our hometown, Texas, because he misses it when we stay here in New York for too long. So I've come here alone since about 3 years ago.

I don't have many friends, but the ones I do have are very supportive of me. I shut almost everyone out of my life after my mother died, the ones who understood are still my friends, I told the others to fuck off.

Everyone else in NY was still arrogant and had their same, shitty attitudes. Just like it should be. I personally liked it, they're just my type of people, so it made me glad to be here again.

We were here in the first place because of an offer to act and soon direct (once I get the gist of everything) from Broadway when I was barely 16. I was so excited when I heard the news, but my father? Different story. He said that I'd have to graduate high school and get my associates degree before I do anything of the sort.

Luckily, I started doing online college classes when I was fourteen at the beginning of high school. By then, if I graduated high school, I'd have my associates and my high school diploma. It would be a win-win. Then I'd only have two years to get my bachelors.

Ugh. Being a noble is hard work. Did I mention I'm from an extremely wealthy and noble family? Well, I am, my mother died and for some reason, I got all the money, so I'm the head of the family, not my father.

It's not like he was an asshole or anything, I actually love my father more than my mother, but he just didn't get everything. Someone said it was because for decades, only the women were the head of the family, not men, but I didn't pay much attention.

I thanked my father for doing this, though, he came to New York with me multiple times even though he hates it. At least I had a reason though, I've been wanting to come here for Broadway since I was little.

And my skills..are phenomenal. That's why they chose me at such a young age.

I'm zoned out in my thinking when my dad suddenly makes a wrong turn.

I know this place like it's the back of my hand, why is he making wrong turns?

I look ahead of us and see he's heading to a gas station, then I look at the meter to make sure. Empty. Around the gas station, there are many police officers carrying guns. I overheard that they were on lockdown for some reason.

Now that I think of it, I should have him around me at all times, but we made an agreement on no road trips.

During our wait at the gas station, there was this group of friends in one spot and a couple of boys sitting next to each other pretty distant from the group of friends. Not gonna lie, but they were pretty cute. They almost...looked the same. Are they twins..? It was weird, except that one of them had a very familiar face...even though they look the same. Have I met him before? I take a deep breath and greet them. "Um, hello! My name's Alina and i just thought I'd try to make some new friends!"

Alina! You own multi-billion dollar companies, what's with that shitty introduction?

I shake my head to release the thoughts from my mind.
