SELINA

"Nasaan si Gracia, Lotharion?" Tanong ko kay Eros. Nakasandal ito sa malaking kabinet malapit sa pintuan ng kwarto kung saan nasa loob nito si Moore. Pansamantala itong nagpapahilom ng sugat.

"Kasama siya ng kapatid mo." Maikling sagot ni Eros sa tanong ko. Halata sa mukha nito ang labis na pagkalito. At alam na alam ko kung ano iyon.

"Alam mo na diba?" Tanong ko ulit. Napabaling sya sakin ng seryoso. Halatang nag-aalangan siyang sumagot.

"B-Bakit mo hinayaang si Moore ang bihagin nila. I thought you're always reasonable Lotharion.
B-But this..." Huminga muna ako ng malalim. Alam kong papatak na ang luha sa pisngi ko kapag hindi ako huminga ng malalim.

"You served them to their plate, De Guzman! It's a trap, for god sake!" Hindi na ako nakapagtimpi. Nasasaktan ako tuwing naaalala ko ang nahihirapan at nasasaktang mukha ni Moore. I can feel how he was betrayed and tortured.

"He insisted." Eros briefly answered. I laugh in a sarcastic tone.

"And you took advantage!" I nagged him loud enough to piss him off. Nakita ko ang paghinga niya ng malalim. He was terrified.

"Kilala mo si Moore ever since. What he wants he gets. Parepareho kayo ng prinsipyo sa buhay but don't you know that when it comes to you, he suddenly change into an overly obedient canid." I gulp hard before I continue. Pakiramdam ko kasi pipiyok na ang boses ko.

"Whatever you said, gagawin niya even if it cost his life. And I was so damn confident to trust you his life!" Sigaw ko sa kanya. I want to kick hard this lotharion right now. Kung hindi nga lang nagpapahinga si Moore sa kabilang kwarto.

"I'm sorry." After how many decades we've been a family with this man, it's my first time to heard him say sorry.

He can't even look at me directly in the eyes. This lotharion was literally confused.

"Do you still love her?" Tanong ko na ikinabigla niya. I feel confident to ask him that today.

"You do." He was pissed off. "Then why bother asking, Madrigal?" He replied then slammed hard the front surface of the wooden cabinet before leaving the room. Nasa antique shop kami. He walked out mad.

I offered myself to the comfy couch I had inside the shop. My whole body was literally exhausted and rattled.

Naghahalo ang pagod, puot at lito sa loob ng aking buong katawan.
