A red bubbling chakra started to surface and cover my entire body. The red chakra started directing itself towards Pain but before it could get extracted, a figure came crashing down from the sky and punched the ground where Pain stood a moment ago. The disruption caused a breakage in the control he had over me.

The red chakra disappeared back into my body and I panted as I placed my head on the ground in exhaustion. I tried to regain my breathing and desperately tried to stay alive by keeping myself awake despite all the damage that was done to me. But I knew that it was a losing battle. I lifted my head up and my (e/c) eyes trailed over to the person standing in front of me and it was someone I knew all too well based on the clothing.

Hinata.

"Reinforcements?" Questioned Pain as his eyes darted over to Naruto and I.

"What are you doing here?! Hurry and run! You don't stand a chance against him!" Urged Naruto, but Hinata stood her ground, not wanting to leave us but more importantly him.

"This time I'll save you! (Y/n), this will be for helping me back then." Her pupil less white eyes held a fierce determination but her words rang in my head.

'Back then?' I don't remember what I did to help her back then. But even if it's to repay me for that, this isn't the time nor place.

"And Naruto kun-" I cut her before she could continue on.

"Hinata please get out of here. You don't know what you're getting yourself into!"

"We know what we're getting ourselves into."

I froze as I heard that familiar voice and slowly turning my head to the left, I saw Shikamaru with every one of my friends standing right beside him, ready to fight.

Everyone was there.

Shikamaru, Ino, Choji, Kiba, Shino, Sakura, Sai, Neji, Tenten, and Lee.

"More reinforcements I see." Pain stood there unbothered by the number of shinobi that were before him.

I stared at Pain and vigorously shook my head not wanting him to hurt them. I looked back over to my friends wanting an explanation for this.

"What are you all doing here?!" I frantically shouted at them, not wanting them to get tangled up in this mess.

"We're here to help you guys out," spoke up Kiba who was seated on top of Akamaru.

"We're not going to stand by and let you guys do all the work," said Lee with a pump of his fist.

"You guys don't need to be here! It's too dangerous!" Retorted Naruto. He wanted them to leave the scene just as badly as I did.

They ignored us and a more than half of them like Hinata, Lee, Kiba, Tenten, Neji and Sai ran towards Pain while others like Shino and Shikamaru kept their distance for a long range attack.

"You guys, stop!" I called out to them but they engaged in a hand to hand combat with Pain.

Choji started to break the rods that were holding Naruto down first. Sakura got to work on healing my battered body while Ino pulled out the rod from my hands earning a grunt from me.

She started to heal my hands and I turned my head to face Naruto and there were only four rods left remaining.

Pain noticed this and used his almighty push to push away the six that were surrounding him, sending them skidding away.

Pain started running towards us and extended his arm out and pulled in Shikamaru who was near me and stabbed him right through the heart.

My eyes widened leaving me horrified at what I just witnessed. Everyone else was alarmed and shocked by seeing one of our friends go down.

"G-guys run! Go!" I hurriedly yelled to the remaining ones that were alive.

My legs were shaking as I got up on my feet and pushed the girls away to get moving then headed over to Naruto to help him.

The girls stumbled on their feet and everyone was hesitant about leaving, but Naruto screamed at everyone to run and they did.

But they didn't get very far because Pain pulled them towards him and slipped out a rod from within his sleeve.

Knowing what he was about to do I cried out, "Stop!"

He swiftly stabbed them one by one and tossed their bodies aside to the ground. Naruto and I stared in horror at the sight of our comrades lying in their own puddle of blood.

Some were killed instantly while others lay there with their life slowly fading from their eyes.

I slumped to the ground and placed my hand over my mouth to hold back a muffled sob. My blood ran as cold as ice and I stared at Pain with fury and despair flaring in my eyes.

"You bastard!"

Naruto remained silent with his eyes wide as he stared at the bright, fresh blood that was seeping from everyone's body. I was sure that he would go ballistic any moment.

"And just like this...my parents were killed before my very own eyes by Leaf Shinobi. Out of love, sacrifice is born...hate is born...and we are able to know pain. Now you truly know pain."

That was the last thing I heard before I felt a surge of chakra rush through me and explode into the air.

Amidst the swirling red chakra and smoke that surrounded the area, there were two hunched over figures with tails protruding from their behind. One having three tails while the other had four.

The nine tails and eleven tails have now been unleashed.
