You yawned and rubbed your eye deciding to put your book down for the night. It was the deathly trap of just one more page and that led you reading until the late hours of 11 o'clock.
Stretching out, you realized how entice you had been in the book by how your neck and back slightly ached in bearable pain. Turning the side lamp off, you sighed relaxing under the bed covers.
It was only now that you noticed it was raining outside. You loved when it rained at night. It always seemed to lull you to sleep.
It had only seemed a few minutes before a loud knock came to your door. You groaned sitting up and flicked the side lamp on again. "Yeah?" You called as the door creaked open. Cracking sobs caught your ears as your eyes widened and your senses woke up.
"(Y-Y/N)..." your younger brother Niall cried shaking at your doorway. Your eyes softened at him and a loud thunder erupted making him scream and run to you. He jumped into your arms and you held him securely against your chest as he cried harshly into it.
"I'm here." You reassured kissing Niall's hair. Thunder and late night rains were his downfall ever since he was born. Your parents were deep sleeps so he always came to you.
You hummed beside his ear lying you both down and turning off the lamp.
"I've got you baby. Nothing is going to hurt you." Niall clung to you as you laid there for a while, listening and feeling him slowly calm himself to sleep. "I love you Niall." You kissed his forehead as he drooled lightly against you.
Yep. Definitely asleep.
