Chapter 17

The past week was full of downs. Baekhyun would glance at Chanyeol during work times just to see that he was working with someone else. Chanyeol would always worked with Baekhyun.

Why couldn't he just fold first and come talk to me?, Baekhyun would ponder. Fine, it's okay I can do this without him. I don't need him. Maybe a little space would help us both.

And then there was other times, Baekhyun pouted. He stared at the ground. I miss him, he would think. I miss my giant. I miss working with him. I miss his hugs. I miss him. I miss him. I miss him.

Not only where things sucky for Baekhyun people were gossiping and always have him the look. "The word that's going around is if you and Chanyeol broke up. And if so, many girls have their hopes up of snatching him away." Said Chen. Baekhyun knitted his eyebrows,"we're not dating though." He clicked his tongue,"I'm not gonna lose him just like this and he's not even interested in those thirsty girls."
"And how do you know that?" Chen asks. "I just..do." Baekhyun shrugged.
"Well I'm just reporting the gossip that's going around."

Chanyeol walks across the room laughing while clapping his hand at Suho's joke.

Is he really fine without me? Baekhyun thought.

Unlike Baekhyun, Chanyeol seemed fine. He was hanging out with other friends laughing, playing, and smiling.

Ignoring each others and each other's presence was harder as time went by for Baekhyun.

Baekhyun walked and sat on the same table as Lay.

"Hi."

"uh wh-me?" Lay said surprised.

"Who else?" Baekhyun laughed.

"Oh..hi."

There was an awkward silence but Baekhyun was determined to make things less awkward.

"Um..so how are you?"

"Uh..good. And you?"

"I'm fine..I guess."

Lay look at him. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah.."

"Seeing how things seem with you and..Chanyeol. I thought you guys were fighting.."

"N-no were just giving each other space."

Lay nodded in understanding.

There was another awkward silence.

"So.."

"Yeah?"

"So do you like anybody?" Baekhyun asked bravely as if nothing had happened.

Lay stared at Baekhyun with clouded eyes.

Baekhyun looked away knowing the answer.

"Are you sure you're fine?" Lay asked.

"..Y-yeah"

"Don't lie..B-Baek..h-hyun.." The name rolled heavily off his tongue. It seen foreign yet familiar.

"..go talk to talk to him."

"Nah.. He wouldn't want to talk."

"Go. I can see you hurting and I don't like it."

Baekhyun stared at the table. He then stood up. "I'm gonna go for a walk."

He slowly walked towards the hall. He looked at the walls and ceiling as if he had never seen them before, as if they were the most interesting in the world right now. He tried to get his mind off from him.
