Chapter 29

Baekhyun wrinkled his nose at the sunlight shining through his window curtain.

"Oh." He groans. His headache was killing him along with a terrible congestion.

"Baek, get up." Jade quickly yells into his room before leaving again.

Baekhyun breaks into a cough. "No- I d-don't feel good." Baekhyun's exhausted voice manages to say.

"What?" Jade peeks into his doorway again.

"Tell mom, I don't feel good." Baekhyun groans.

Jade snorts,"Pretty sure she's not going to let you slide with that terrible lie."

"I'm not lying."

A few minutes later his mother arrives in his room.

"Mom," Baekhyun begins to whine.

Mrs. Byun takes the seat beside him. "Honey, you don't feel good?"

He nods using his pout and puppy eyes. Then he begins coughing again.

She reaches forward to feel his forehead. "You are very warm.. And you sound horrible with that congestion." Then she checks his cheeks. "I think you're burning up..Okay, you can stay home sweetheart."

Baekhyun cheers mentally.

"I'll bring you medicine and make you porridge before I leave okay?" Mrs. Byun asks him.

"Thank you mom. You're the best." His voice cracks in mid-sentence.

"Feel better." She ruffles his hair and tucks him in before leaving.

"Thank goodness." He say out loud. There was no way he would be able to go to school in this condition.

There was complete silence after Jade and his parents left the house. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile..

Chanyeol continued to wait by the walk near the entrance for Baekhyun.

"Where is he? He's usually not this late.." Chanyeol checks the time again. He crossed his arms. "He's going to have some serious explaining to do?"

A couple of minutes later..

"Baekhyun!" Chanyeol groans out-loud. "Where are you?!" Other students look at his like he was a madman, talking to himself out-loud.

Chanyeol furrows his eyebrows and pouts. "He seriously skipped today or did he wake up late?" The thought of a late, frizzy bed-hair Baekhyun caused him to smile. But it quickly disappears when he's reminded Baekhyun was still not here.

Chanyeol pauses,"Where's Jade..?"

He quickly scans the cafeteria for Jade but she was not in there. "Baekhyun usually visits her around..second floor!"

Using his long legs, Chanyeol flys up the stairs..but that didn't mean he was in shape. He huffed out of breath,"Where is that damn Byun Baek.."

Chanyeol continued to scan classrooms to Jade. "Jade~! Byun Jade~! Jade Byun~! Jade-Ah~"

Chanyeol lazily yells into the hallways and classrooms.

Jade's friend quickly enters her classroom to tell her "Someone is calling your name.."

Jade makes a face,"Who?"

Another one of her friend joins them. "Oh my god! Jade! Chanyeol oppa is looking for you! But why?" All the younger girls with curious why the goodlooking tall boy was looking for her.
