Margaret King
I had been caught.
I was never caught.
I always managed to get away.
But not this time.
And not only had I been caught, Dad had been shot.
I struggled and I fought against the arms pressing me into the back of the police car.
I cried to see my father.
I wanted to know that he was ok.
I wanted to know that Mike was dead and that the rest of my family had managed to get away.
"You're in huge trouble" one of the officers in the car laughed.
"You didn't fucking do your job. You're meant to save people! You let my dad get shot you absolute pricks!" I screamed, letting the hot tears fall.
"There was nothing we could have done."
"You're both pathetic. You shouldn't be called policemen. You're a disgrace!" I yelled.
They didn't respond.
I watched as their expressions turned from powerful, to guilty.

Once we arrived to the police station, I was thrown in a holding cell.
"Wait here"
"Well I can't exactly leave Can I" I scoffed.
The two men walked away, leaving me in the dark cell.
I paced around the cell.
I knew there were officers here who would try their hardest to make sure I went to prison, and went through a trial.
I was alone.
And that was the worst thing.
I didn't have Carter to keep me calm, I didn't have Mum to give me the comfort I so desperately wanted, I didn't have Dad to tell me what to do.
And I didn't have Taron.

I didn't know what would happen to Taron now. Would his parents let him in again? Would they protect him? Or would he end up in here with me?
I wanted to know why my dad would sacrifice himself for Taron.

"You're being locked up" one of the officers smirked and I scoffed.
"Yeah right."
"I'm not kidding."
"You have to let me go until my trial" I said jumping up off the floor.
"Everyone thinks you're too much of a danger to society. So we're keeping you locked up until, and through your trial" they grinned and I kicked the bars harshly.
"That's not fair!"
"What do you know about fair?" They said and clipped handcuffs around my wrists, dragging me harshly to another car.

"Im sure you'll fit right in here" A man sighed and I shook my head.
"None of you understand. We're not the bad people. You're just too up on your high horses to even notice that" I scoffed.
"No one wants to hurt you"
"Bullshit"
"I'm Blake by the way"
"I don't give a shit" I spat as we stopped in front of a cell.
"It's my first day here too" he said unlocking the dull cell.
"Would you just piss off already?!" I said, feeling tears threaten to spill over my eyes.
"Fine" Blake shrugged and locked me in the cell.

I threw the assigned clothes in a corner and crashed on the bed.
"Fucking stupid people." I sighed staring at the ceiling.
I got five minutes peace before someone was knocking on my door.
"Excuse me?" A girl said, and I walked up to the door.
"What"
"I just had to see you for myself. Everyone wants to meet you" she smirked.
"Why?"
"You're notorious. Everyone in here looks up to you."
"I'm only eighteen" I scoffed.
"And you're one of the best criminals London has ever seen. You and your whole family" she said and I folded my arms.
"Yeah well I'm not some circus so move on"
"We thought Margaret King never got caught" she grinned and I could feel my lip twitching in anger.
"They're just holding me here till my trial. Now, fuck off" I growled.
"No need to be hostile. We want to be your friends"
"I don't need friends" I said and walked away from the door.

"Margaret."
"Oh my god can I not get a minutes silence?"
"You've got a meeting" Blake said opening my door. "You didn't change"
"I'm not going to" I scoffed following him.
Prisoners around us cheered and hollered as I walked past but I payed them no attention.
"What's this meeting about?" I asked Blake.
"Lawyers"
"Fuck" I sighed.
"Apparently they cant wait to get your case in trial. They're rescheduling all others and making sure yours gets in quickly" he said and I nodded.
"Everyone gets so excited when we're involved" I scoffed and I saw him smile.
"Well you're notorious people"
"So I've heard"
"You don't look like what I expected" he smiled and I shrugged.
"Let me guess. You expected me to just look rough" I said and he nodded.
"You're actually quite pretty, if you don't mind me saying"
"No. But I think my boyfriend might" I grinned and he turned his face away from me.

As we got to the metal room I gasped.
Blake opened the door for me and I felt my palms start to sweat.
I stared at Ophelia and Jack, who looked stern, yet there was an aura of smugness around them.
"You're representing me?" I asked.
"No Miss King. We're not. We're the ones trying to get you locked away." Ophelia grinned and my blood ran cold.
"You're joking" I said and they shared a look between them.
"Not one bit" Ophelia said and I wanted nothing more than to just lash out at her.
"Maggie" I heard from the side of me.
My head snapped round.
A grin appeared on my face.
"Marcus! Jim!" I smiled and hugged the two men.
"How you doing kiddo?" Jim asked and I smiled.
"Not bad" I said trying to push down the thoughts of Dad.
"We're representing you" Marcus said and I nodded.

Jim and Marcus had gone to school with my dad.
They were some of his closest friends.
Both men would sometimes come round for a drink with my parents and their wives.
They both knew what we did and were both professional lawyers.
I knew that my case was safe with them.

"Let's get started shall we?" Jack said and we all sat down at the table.
"Can I just start by saying, you're both assholes"
"Maggie" Marcus said in a warning tone, and I folded my arms over my chest.
"No. I'm talking to you off record now. I'm your sons girlfriend, and you're wanting to lock me up?"
"You're not good for him. He came with you on this mission and almost got killed. I'm holding you accountable" Ophelia explained and I wanted to scream.
"He didn't have to come. We gave him that option. He wanted the training, he wanted to come" I said and Jim wrote on his paper.
"You still need to be held accountable for all the people you've hurt. The courts may be wrapped around your parents little finger, but you, no. You're going away" Jack said.
"I'm sure Taron will love you both very much for this" I scoffed.
"It's about law and justice. Not personal" Jack sighed.
"Bullshit"
"Anyways! Margaret King, your trial will begin a week from this date at the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom" Jim said and I winced as I heard where it was being held.
"Marcus,"
"We don't choose the location. I know it's scary" Marcus whispered.
"But I haven't done anything! Why the Supreme Court?!"
"You've done enough. You're the violent one of all the operations. So we see your brother as more of a businessman, you're a killer" Ophelia said.
"I'm not a killer"
"That's just not true"

After talking about other arrangements the meeting was over.
"I hope you know we'll be using Taron against you" Ophelia said and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yeah right"
"It's true."
"Then I guess we'll have to see how well that works for you"
"He doesn't love you" Jack said and I laughed sarcastically.
"We'll see. Pricks" I smiled before Blake led me back to my cell.

Knowing that Taron was going to be used against me scared me. I just hoped that he stayed true to what he wanted, and didn't just give in to what his parents told him to say.
I hoped he stayed by me.
