Margaret King
I dressed in my usual black attire, equipped with my usual small trinkets. I decided to actually try and look presentable for my first lecture.
Even though I thought this university was bullshit, I might as well learn something.
A gentle knock on my door scared the shit out of me.
Steadily I went to reach for the handle.
"That you courtyard boy?" I yelled through the door.
"Erm no?" A girls voice came back.
I swung open the door to see a girl dressed in a white dress, a pink cardigan hung from round her shoulders.
"Can I help you?"
"Oh wow. You don't look friendly" she said and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I am friendly. To those who don't piss me off. Don't piss me off and we'll be fine" I shrugged and I saw her gulp.
"Oh well, we're neighbours so I thought I'd come and say hi!" She said, she was way too awake and chipper.
"Hi" I said bluntly and she nodded.
"I bet you there's someone sweet in there" she giggled and I shrugged again.
"I don't think so princess"
"I'm not a princess"
"Then why dress like one?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh! Everyone wears white here" she smiled and I looked down at my all black attire. "Everyone except you!"

"Emily! What are you doing?!" A boy said from down the corridor.
He came quickly and grabbed her arm.
"What's wrong?"
"That's Margaret King" he spat and I winked, and showed my family famous grin.
"And?"
"She's dangerous. Let's go" he commanded and she immediately flickered her eyes to the ground.
"Who are you to order her around like that?" I spat at him and I saw her smile a little.
"I'm her boyfriend. I can do what I want"
"Even I have better manners than you do you prat"
"What did you call me?"
"You heard me. Now, fuck off" I growled and he looked shocked, as he dragged Emily away from me.
"Bye" she mouthed and I nodded before she was dragged round the corner.

I knew all the people here would be assholes. They'll never see me for anything less than a criminal. And I was fine.
I went back into my room and picked up my bag, slinging it over my shoulder.
I stuck my headphones in as I wandered round, trying to find the room I was meant to be in.
This school was huge.
I had no sense of bearing at all.
But alas, having parents like mine payed off.
I dug around in my bag to find one of my many little gadgets.
"Law academics building, London Government Central" I spoke into the gadget
A little ring appeared on the screen, followed by a map.
I followed the line on the satellite map and laughed to myself as I found the right room.

I looked in the small window and saw that the room was half full.
"Control your temper. Don't fuck this up" I sighed before pushing the door open.
As I walked in, the whole room stopped their conversations, their eyes trained on my every move.
I just kept walking until I reached a seat behind everyone else, I sat down and that's when the whispers started to come.
I ignored them and pulled out my laptop, pen and paper.
I was fiddling round with settings as more people filed into the room. My attention was caught as a familiar face walked in. Courtyard boy. He looked around and made short eye contact with me before walking towards me.
My heart surprisingly fluttered as he gave me a small smile and sat in front of me.
I shook it off and went back to typing.

"Can I sit there?" I heard from beside me and looked up to see Emily stood there.
I picked my legs up and nodded. She wakes quickly in beside me and sat down.
"Why is no one sat near you?" She smiled and I laughed.
"Because I'm a King" I grinned.
"Yes. Yes I know that"
"So why are you sat here?"
"Because I don't like rumours. I like to make my own assumptions of people after I meet them" she smiled and I nodded.
"What's your name then?"
"Emily Rose" she smiled and I nodded shaking her outstretched hand.
"Margaret King."
"You don't look like a Margaret"
"No one calls me Margaret. It's usually Maggie, or Margot or in my idiot brothers case, maggot" I said and she nodded.
"So what can I call you?" She asked and I smiled.
"Margot, Maggie, you choose" I laughed and she nodded.

"You're boyfriend's a dick" I said and Emily sighed.
"I know. I didn't want him to be my boyfriend. It was our parents who wanted it" she explained and I rolled my eyes.
"You can't let people boss you around like that. It's not good" I said and she nodded.
"I can't imagine anyone bossing you around" she giggled and I shrugged.
"Nope. I don't let them"
There was a lull in the conversation and I saw her waving at several people.
"Do you know most people here?" I whispered and she smiled.
"I know most. Not all. But most" she whispered back. "Why?"
"No reason"
"Do you like the look of someone?" She whispered, her eyes seemingly lighting up.
I shrugged.
"Who?"
I flickered my eyes down to courtyard boy sat in front of me and she gasped.
"No!" She squealed.
"What?! Who is he?" I whispered and she tapped her feet lightly on the floor.
"I'm surprised you don't know. That's Taron Mills, son of Ophelia and Jack Mills. They're like the best lawyers money could buy" she explained and I nodded. "You like him?"
"No. I just happen to think he's ever so slightly more attractive than anyone I have come to witness" I shrugged.
"You so like him"

She reached forward and tapped him on the shoulder.
He turned and looked at Emily with a smile.
"Hello" he spoke, that voice could melt even the coldest heart.
"Taron?" She questioned and he nodded shaking her hand. "Im Emily Rose. It's such an honour to meet you" she said with the perfect manner and grace.
"Nonsense. I'm not my parents. I'm sure you're just as talented as I" he smiled and I couldn't help but roll my eyes as she giggled.
"I don't think so. It's nice we're in the same lecture group" she smiled and he nodded.
He turned slightly more and his eyes met mine. I gulped.
"Can I help you?" I grinned.
"Are you going to throw a knife at me?"
"Potentially" I grinned. "Margaret" I said sticking out my hand. "But don't call me Margaret or I will throw a knife in you"
"Taron Mills. What should I call you?"
"Anything. Maggie or Margot are the two favourites" I winked and he blushed.
I shook my head as I realised we were still holding each others hand.
I didn't have time to stare at him much longer as our professor came in.

He was a dull man, dressed in boring clothes, speaking boring words.
I rolled my eyes as I took down notes.
I understood everything he was saying, yet I couldn't concentrate. And it was all because of the boy sat in front of me.
