   Y/N'S POV

"Y/N, will you please go out to dinner with me?"

I picked up my package and looked Francis Freeman in the eyes. Those eyes that immediately brought me back to when we were kids. All those hurtful things he used to call me, especially when it came to my weight.
Now, he just walked over to my house and expected me to forget? I never forgot anything. This time was no different. I wondered if he even remembered calling me out of my name.

I said,"No. Why don't find some other female that would love your company? What about her over there?"

Francis followed my eyes and shook his head saying,"No. She's another long story for another day. I want to take you out to dinner. Why are you saying no?"

I stopped Francis from coming inside my house and closed the door in his face. I put the package on the table and opened the door back up.

Francis rolled his eyes and said,"That was rude. Why won't you accept my dinner invitation?"

I replied,"I really have to get back to cleaning, Freeman. You should go."

Francis tried not to look disappointed, but he replaced it with a smile saying,"Okay. I'll be back, Y/N."

Francis left and I closed the door, letting out a sigh. Maybe I was too hard on Francis. It wasn't that there was anything wrong with him but what he had done to me. Maybe it was time I tried to move on and give him a chance. Since it was so long ago, Francis may not even remember insulting my weight.
I turned on some music and did my work out routine, before the doorbell went off. I grabbed my bottle of water and opened the door, only for a bouquet of orchids to be there.

I couldn't help but smile at the note attached to the orchids.

After I read the note, I said,"He does remember."

In the note, Francis basically apologized and told me he would do whatever it took to make it up to me. He explained how he was just following the crowd, and he didn't realize how much he was actually hurting me.
At the end, he asked me another time to go out to dinner. He also said that he understood if I wasn't interested, and he would leave me alone if that's what I wanted.

Did I want him to leave me alone?

Was I really ready for him to go?

I wrote down my reply on the note and rushed the note back to his house. Then, I rushed back to my own house. As I caught my breath, I watched as Francis walked outside.
He noticed the note, and a frown appeared on his face. He looked around for me, most likely, and then he read it. That was he suddenly smiled.

He rushed inside and closed the door behind him, carrying the note in his hand. I smiled and got ready myself, before I waited for him to come get me.
When he arrived, he held out his arm. I slowly took it and let him lead me to dinner. When we first sat down, it was pure silence. Neither of us said a single word to one another.

I finally broke the silence saying,"Francis, I forgive you, you know?"

Francis looked over at me and said,"Why? So quickly?"

I nodded and replied,"I've been holding on to it too long, and I need to move on anyway. Plus, maybe I needed the pain to help me get better. It pushed me, too, so it wasn't all that bad."

Francis didn't look convinced that I was all right, so I took his hand in my own.

I gave it a squeeze and said,"Hey, I really do forgive you, but you have to really win me over with this dinner."

Francis replied,"Thank you for forgiving me. I will win you over with this dinner. Trust me."

I smiled at Francis, and I was really impressed with how our dinner went. Sadly, we had to leave, and Francis grabbed my hand.

I turned back, and he said,"I had a great time with you. Y/N, I'm not done bothering you."

I chuckled and replied,"I would be disappointed, if you were. Bye, Francis."

He placed a kiss on my forehead and said,"Bye, Y/N."

I watched Francis leave and leaned on the door frame. He turned around and waved at me from his yard.

I waved back, and he yelled,"I'LL BE BACK TOMORROW!"

  I yelled back,"NO!"

Francis laughed and looked back at me one more time, before he walked inside. I laughed to myself, then I headed back inside my home. Whatever tomorrow brought with Francis, I was looking forward to it.
