   TONY'S POV

As I was about to get a drink from the fridge, I noticed Y/N sitting next to Natasha. Nat was talking about her issues with Bruce, and Y/N seemed to be listening very closely to her. I, for one, wanted to butt into the conversation, but I realized it might startle Y/N. Y/N was very shy, which made it harder for me to try to get her to talk to me. I knew she talked to Natasha and Rogers, but she had never once said a word to me. Who did not want to talk to me? I was Tony Stark.

Rogers walked past me and said,"Are you staring at Y/N again?"

  "No, are you?"

"No. I am asking you a question. Why don't you just try to talk to her alone, Tony?"

I let out a sigh and said,"It isn't that easy, Rogers."

Steve raised an eyebrow in curiosity and asked me,"Why not? Aren't you Tony Stark?"

I admitted to him,"All right. I just want Y/N to talk to me. I may even like her. I mean, look at her. She's pretty. She's shy but a cute kind of shy. She's mysterious to me, but I want to know more. Rogers, what do I need to do to get her to talk to me?"

Steve motioned to myself and replied,"What you just did, Tony. Be honest with her. She may be shy, yet she wants to know YOU. She wants you to talk to her. Make the first move. Go to her. I will steal Nat away."

I sent Steve a smile and squeezed his shoulder saying,"Thank you, Rogers. I appreciate it."

He nodded and said,"We're a family. You're welcome."

I smiled to myself, before Steve pulled Natasha away. Y/N sent me a shy smile, and I slowly sat down beside her.

I asked her,"Do you want to talk to me?"

Probably not the best way to start the conversation, but my mind seemed to be going blank.

Y/N nodded, and I said,"Okay, I can work with that. Do you...uh...Do you need anything?"

She looked nervous to speak and crossed her legs, shaking a little bit. I did not know whether to reach out to her or just stay in my awkward position.

She finally looked me in the eyes and said,"A friend. I need a friend."

I gently took her hand saying,"Well, it looks like you're in luck. I want to be your friend too. Maybe something more later."

The last part slipped out, and Y/N smiled, blushing like crazy.

I just pulled her in for a hug, and she hugged me back saying,"T...Thank y...you for b...being my friend."

  "No problem, Y/N. No problem."

Steve entered the room and separated us saying,"You're only friends. Nothing more. No hugging in front of me."

Y/N giggled and hugged my waist, as to which I had no problem with. Friends was a start and maybe this could help me along the way with women, too.
