   Y/N'S POV

  "Mother, is Father busy?"

As Mother helped me with my hair, she laughed saying,"Your father's always busy but never enough for you. Are you going to tell him how you've been feeling lately?"

I looked at her, and she said,"Mother's know everything. I know you've been meaning to talk to him. Go find him."

I kissed her cheek, before I ran out of the room.

I heard Aunt Okoye yell,"Y/N, NO RUNNING!!"

I walked out to the waterfall, and Dad was standing so tall and confident.

He said,"Morning, Y/N. How did you sleep?"

I stood beside him and adjusted my dress, out of nervousness of how to approach Father about what I've been wanting to speak to him about for a while now.
Father looked down at me and it felt like he was studying me, which made me look away. He knew me better than anyone else, so I knew he was trying to figure me out right this second.

I said,"I slept fine. Father, do you have something else you have to do?"

Father's eyes met my own, and he sent me a gentle smile saying,"I do, but it can wait. What is it, daughter?"

I sat down, and he slowly sat down beside me.

I asked him,"Are you always confident when you're doing what you must for Wakanda?"

He replied,"No, but I don't always get to decide whether I'm ready or not. My people need me, and I have to be confident and strong for them. I may be scared or uncertain of what will come next, but it is something I have to go through as king. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Father, I understand, but I just want you to...to..."

I was so afraid of what he would say to me, but I needed him to know.

Tears fell down my face, and I said,"I just want to be like you. I want to make you proud, but I don't know how to do that. I don't want to upset you."

Father pulled me into his arms and held me saying,"You could never upset me, unless you replace me. Y/N, I've always been proud of you, and I know you will be a great queen when your time comes. You're more like me than you realize, and you'll always be my favorite."

I leaned into him, and he moved my hair out of my face saying,"Don't tell your mother."

I laughed saying,"I think she already knows that, but she accepts it."

Father kissed my forehead twice and said,"She may, but you both mean the world to me."

"I know, Father, I know. We love you, too."
