The remainder of their Christmas and New Year's vacation was filled with jubilation and merriment as they eagerly prepared for the upcoming semester at Hogwarts. The letter and its heartfelt sentiments lingered in Sophie's heart, serving as a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of forgiveness and second chances.

Over the holiday break, Sophie had turned 19 on the 28th of December, and the day was spent in blissful simplicity with Severus. They snuggled up together, watching muggle movies, indulging in delicious treats, and enjoying each other's company. It was a new and strangely delightful experience for her, as the muggle movies offered a different kind of entertainment than the magical world she was accustomed to. For Severus, it was a glimpse into a world he had never contemplated before.

On the 9th, they celebrated Severus' birthday, coinciding with the day when all the students were returning from the holiday break, bracing themselves for the upcoming classes. Now that they were both older and more mature, they engaged in deep conversations about their post-graduation plans, meticulously planning their future together.

As the days drew closer to graduation, Sophie and Severus found themselves in the courtyard on a late June afternoon transitioning into twilight. The anticipation of the impending graduation filled Sophie with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She couldn't help but feel a flutter of butterflies in her stomach, knowing that soon, she would be living with Severus in Spinner's End for the summer.

A subtle breeze gently swept through the courtyard, causing Sophie to shift her position from resting her head on Severus' lap to sitting up straight and then laying her head on his shoulder, adopting a more composed posture.

Throughout the time from Christmas to this very day, Sophie had numerous heartfelt conversations with the marauders and Lily. Everything seemed to be going according to her well-laid plans.

The Order of the Phoenix had its first meeting in late March, just after James' birthday on the 27th. New members introduced themselves to the old ones, and Sophie, being a Slytherin, raised some eyebrows. However, Lily explained her story and the circumstances that led her to join, and she was warmly welcomed, especially by the Prewett brothers, eager to meet the girl their sister, Molly, spoke so dearly of.

Yet, amidst the camaraderie and acceptance, there was a tinge of bittersweetness for Sophie. Despite her active involvement, she found it peculiar that she wasn't included in the moving picture taken at the first official meeting of all the Order members. Instead, she had operated the camera on a regulated timer, capturing the moment for posterity as a third-party observer. She kept a copy of the picture with her at all times, cherishing the memories and the bond she shared with those who fought against the rising darkness. Uncertainty loomed, knowing that reality could shift at any moment, and each interaction with her friends and fellow members was a precious moment to be treasured.

As Sophie gazed at the moving picture of the Order members, she couldn't help but smile at their bright and determined faces. It had been quite a feat to capture the perfect moment, as Alastor Moody had been grumbling about the lighting throughout the entire process. Nonetheless, the photograph was a cherished memory of a united front against darkness.
