"W-Why are you giving me this city?!" I said to Duke Barin, while sorting some paper he explained it to me
"You know, I am quite old, I can't handle a lot of this documents myself now my retainers are nowhere to be found I'm only me. But with a young man like you, you can sort this documents right?" He said while smirking
"Wait! You're just pushing the responsibilities into me!" I said to him, he laughs and the others too.
Then he turns serious again, "You know, my wife isn't dead yet." He said
Everyone was surprised

"Uncle. how can you be so sure?" Alice said, the room got quiet and everyone listened.
"When I was still imprisoned someone delivered a letter to me, It's not addressed to anyone, It's just a blank envelope with no stamp of any family crest." He said
"When I opened the letter and I recognized the hand writings, It was my wife." He said while his eyes are serious, he temporarily stopped sorting the documents and continued.
"She said she's staying at her master's place at Azure Lake, she's a magic user too but due to a magic item Fritz used on her, her magic power was later consumed to the point that she didn't have any strength left." He said while his eyes are looking down
"Then I thought Fritz killed her, Fritz also though he killed her because he stabbed her but using a little magic she summoned a magical beast that can fly, her griffon." He continued
A griffon?!
"It's her master's gift to her before leaving her master's place and marrying me." He said
Damn, who knew Duke Barin's wife is badass.
"She specializes in wind magic, and I am a warrior so me and her fell in love with each other-- ah! I'm getting carried away! I'm sorry, I just miss my wife." Now his expression was a mix of sadness and incompleteness.
"Maybe we can investigate the Azure Lake." I said, everyone looked at me and nodded
"You will? But who'll sort this documents? You're the new lord here." Duke Barin said
"W-Wait! I haven't agreed on that!" I said, but someone entered the room, It was Eric, he's wearing a formal attire which most nobles and great merchants would wear.
"I'll sort everything in place of the new lord." Eric said he smiles and walks to Duke Barin
"Ah, Eric It's nice to see you're alright." Duke Barin greeted him
"Ah yes, thanks to this guy here I was alive and can continue living with my family, speaking of which, Fritz took my wife and child on his escape and was about to do something unpleasant to them, but thankfully Azazel's servant came and stopped it." Eric said
Damn you Fritz, luckily Torus came, by the way Torus is outside he's guarding the door, what a servant! And what's weird? He's a God. Yeah I God. -_-
Luckily he recognized Eric and let him through.
"You'll take the stead right?" Duke Barin said to Eric
"That's if Azazel, no, Lord Azazel permits me." He said
"Yeah, I'll give you my permission." I said
He bows and said. "As you wish Lord Azazel."
Saying Lord to a man who came out of nowhere is a bit weird but I'll take it.
"But let me speak first." I said, the two of them, Duke Barin and Eric was startled.
"First, the trading within the city, since there are quite a few merchants coming in and out we should let them pay the normal business tax, a higher business tax will make them sway and not come here like right now, since this city is the center of trading we should carefully monitor the marketplace, there's an underground market that Fritz was organizing we should destroy that." I said they were startled and Duke Barin looked at the documents again, he saw how absurd the business tax and the merchants coming in and out are a few and Gremit needs funds to rebuild the ones that are destroyed.
"Second, the farmlands outside, Fritz made the people plant 90% of Cash Plants which focuses on money and not the peoples hungry children, 10% of those are Food Plants but it's not enough to feed the whole city, the commoners relied on the merchants who are selling food not wares for their everyday need, we should first prioritize the planting of food crops since there are merchants who sell fruits and vegetables we should buy from those to produce food crops." I continued, Duke Barin and Eric are fast to write down what do
"Also, we should the embezzled money from the trading on the underground market, Fritz might have hidden the money of the city there." Duke Barin nods and continued writing
"Third, the commoners, there are a lot of them that are starving, we should quickly deal with that, Eric, can you send someone to send a letter for Duke Maxford in Rebet? We can get some help there, there's abundant resources there from the sea.." I said, Eric nodded, Duke Barin looked at me
"Lad, you're quite capable aren't you?" He said and smirked
"I'm just doing what's best for everyone." I said
I didn't know it but Alice is staring at me in daze, same for the other girls
Levy's the only one who doesn't care about anything here at all. :3
"Ah, we should build an orphanage here and rebuild the academy." I said, yeah there's an academy here, due to shortage on funds the academy stopped functioning and left children uneducated.
And an orphanage, there isn't anything here, if there's a church here they could but there isn't anything, I'm worried about the three children we met earlier.
We're done the meeting with Duke Barin, Eric took care of the documents and sorted it, while we free roamed the city.
It's much bigger than Rebet and Garyou, but the kingdom is much bigger.
I've sent a letter to the king about the relocation of the people we rescued in the Goblin Forest, she's the Village representative when we rescued them.
We'll investigate the Azure Lake but there's a letter left for Uncle Will,
"Torus." I called him
"Yes master." He bowed
"Can you deliver this letter for me? It's a letter for Duke Ramlance in Garyou Town, and also this letter stating a request for help." I said
He received the letter and bowed
"Yes, I will not fail this errand you bestowed upon me." He said and walked away, then he turns into an eagle and flew, who knew he can transform?!
After that a week has passed here and the orphanage is done building.
The academy is under construction
And someone arrived at the city gates.
"I'm gonna meet Azazel at last!" She said and her red hair swayed in the wind, and the sword on her waist dangles.
"Wait for me, Azazel and Alice." She whispered and rode her horse inside.
