Chapter 13: Reward

We then departed, all the adventurers are silent, no one muttered a word, all of them have gloomy looks on their faces not because they didn't fight, its because they ran away, and if its not for one adventurer who defeated all of the golems, their lives would be gone in a flash, that goes for Zachary, he has been silence since departing.

Zachary regretted running away like a coward, and that man, the one who he called a lowlife, defeated the monsters he was scared of.

He gritted his teeth in anger, his heart couldn't calm down because of the anger residing in his heart, [Damn you Lowlife, ill kill you later!] he had made a resolve to kill him.

After travelling for 12 hours, we finally reached the outskirts of the town, so nostalgic. Its only been days since i left, but why do i have the feeling i have been gone for a month, is it because i'm a NEET? Oh come on.

Yeah we reached the town with no one muttering a word, its only me and Alice who is having a conversation for 12 hours.

We then entered the Gate, when the guards saw the faces of the adventurers they didn't say anything, on their minds, they failed and the village is destroyed, but its for completely different reason.

Then the group of adventurers reached the Adventurers Guild.

Lilith seeing the Adventurers came back couldn't be happier, its not because she is waiting for the adventurers, but she can see Azazel.

When the Adventurers walked in, she saw the look on their faces, and she couldn't do anything but sweat, and she couldn't see Azazel.

[Miss Lilith, we finished the Quest.] the one who said that is the one who is leading the whole expedition.

[Um. Y-yes thanks for your hard work, but why do all the adventurers have gloomy faces?] she asked

The man answered [Yeah they lost.]

When she heard this she couldn't help but tremble, she knows what did he mean by lost if they got a Subjugation Quest.

[L-lost? Where is Azazel?] she asked

[Azazel? Who's that?] he said

When she heard this, she was about to break down, he didn't know Azazel, he might've died in battle, she thought.

[Azazel? Hmm. Azazel? ah the Azazel] he remembered the name now

[H-huh? Do you know now?[ she asked

[Yeah the Hero, we were saved because of him, when we ran away because we saw how frightening the Golems are he then stood there and defeated them all, it was quite heroic if you asked me.] he said

[Hero?] she muttered

"Wait what does he mean by hero? He has only average status, plus he doesn't have a party" is what she was saying in her mind.

Then the Adventurers door opened once more, there she saw Azazel

[Yo Lilith, how are you?] He asked

[Y-yes i'm fine, rather what are they saying about you being a hero?] she suddenly asked

[Ah that, well everyone of the ran away from the Golems, so i stood up and killed them all. That's all, the next thing i knew they were calling me a Hero.] he said

She stared blankly at Azazel, [So you defeated them all?]

[Yes, do i get the reward?] He said while laughing, obviously like joking.

[Ah yes you get the reward, please wait a moment.] she then goes to the backroom where the Guildmaster resides.

She came back carrying bag of coins, [Here, since you defeated the monsters all by yourself, you get 5 Gold bits, the other adventurers will get 2 gold bits.] 

[Ah thanks, can i get the 2 Gold bits?] he asked

[Why? Is there someone with you?] she asked

[Yeah i met her in this quest, she said she have something to take care of so she asked me to get her reward for her.]

Then suddenly Lilith's eyes became cold, [Her? She? Azazel do tell me who is this She?]

She said with a cold voice, wait why am i sweating, whats with this? Is this the power of the woman's cold gaze? I only saw this in manga's and anime about jealous girls, wait jealous?

[Y-yeah shes Alice, i met her in the way.] i said,

[Ah Alice? You met her?] she said, her coldness began to fade

[Yes, you know her?] i asked for confirmation

[Yes, i'm her childhood friend, since you know her, did she tell you her secret?] she asked

[Secret? Ah that, i already knew before talking to her.] i said

[What? you already knew?] she said while her voice rose up.

[Shhh, i made a promise to not tell anyone! And i have a secret that she only knew so she and i have something to hide.]

When i said that the coldness began to come back, please i don't want this, even if i'm a God here, i cant face a woman's cold gaze AARGH!

[Secret? What secret Azazel?] with a cold voice she asked me.

Goddamnit a woman's coldness is what i fear!

[I'm gonna tell you anyway so get rid of that cold aura of yours!] i retorted

Then i told her about the Stone Golems becoming Demon Golems, how the Adventurers fainted, a Demon Lord showed up, how i defeated the Demon Lord one sidedly.

Her eyes began to light up, [You defeated a De-]

Before she finishes it covered her mouth, [Hey Hey! I said its a secret, don't go screaming that here or else it would be troublesome!] i said

She calms down and said, [Sorry i got excited, but i didn't know you could defeat "that" guy, he's a right hand, of "that" certain God, i read it on Xephyr's journal.]

[Yeah that guys weak, i may say. There would likely be an invasion of the Demons to here, the Aeiris continent, killing humans for the sake of sacrifices so they can revive "that" God.]

[Yes most likely, Azazel what would you do now?] she asked me

[Me? I would most likely to lay low for while, then i'll go now, please don't say anything about me killing "that" guy, you can spread the news about the Demons invading the Continent. Got it?]

[Yes, ill go spread the news about the Demons invasion.]

[Thanks bye!] then i left the Guild.

Demons invasion huh? Well, ill do what i can though, i want to live a peaceful life in this environment to, i dont want war y'know?

Then came back to the inn and rest.
