Frozen Candles

A candle is fragile, small and light.

Yet the flames that it brings, are oh, so bright.

Be careful with that flicker, it blows out quick.

The smallest breath can knock it down, the slightest trick.

I gave you this candle and lit it nice and slow.

But instead of nursing the flame, you threw it out the damn window.

Watched it fall, twisting lonely in the night,

And didn't even wonder if someday it might,

Come back to haunt you, and light your dreams ablaze.

Admit it! To you this fire was a faze!

So beware, when you let free that heart, darling watch out for the breeze.

I will be there, making sure you freeze.
